Hello e28 experts,

this is a 2/86 528e with an automatic transmission.


I have been having some erratic idling issues on and off and so I read up and decided to spray out the ICV per instructions and have reinstalled.

My car won't stay running now unless i depress the gas pedal which I tried a couple of times. As soon as I let go of the gas it stalls.

I searched and searched but I don't see this issue come up after a simple cleaning of this part? Did I do something wrong? Did i force another issue? stumped and really bummed.

OK so I tried not to freak out and washed the car and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I turned the key and it fired up and seems to be idling normally. A touch lower than before so hopefully the cleaning helped.

I'm thinking there may have been residual WD-40 in the chamber that dried out??
