Pffft. Horribly yellowed coolant bottle. I hope nobody paid more than $5,000 for that car.

The dealer who sold it when new was also an Alpina dealer so that's why there is an Alpina gauge in the dash. When the guy wanted to trade the car in in 91 the same dealer didn't offer him enough for the car so he kept it in his garage for 23 years.

Only thing I don't like is the aftermarket alarm and its wires under the hood. The wheels and time period correct stereo suit the car well.

Could do without the rear parcel shelf speakers, but that's just being nit picky.

Looks like they drilled a hole above the license plate for the alarm lock cylinder.

So that's what they looked like new Kinda cool that it has all four crank windows - and what's with the lower center console? No birdcage down there.

This is a typical dutch delivered car from that time: no options at all. The dutch rather bought a plane jane M535i instead of a loaded regular 535i. That's why a lot of dutch 70's and 80's BMW's have crank windows and no A/C. Most loaded E28's are imported from Germany.

The coolest car I've seen in months. I'd even take it sans AC. Wow!
