Everyones out to lower their e28, but I'm going the opposite, does anyone know of springs of newer models that will raise the e28 up? Currently looking to get some e34 steelies and put some general grabber tires on them. I live out in the farming area of IL and would use it to do some rally fun in bean fields and such.

I'm looking to raise it up about an inch or 2 put tires that are a total of 2-3 inches larger on it, as well as get a 3.25:1 differential off a 535i and make an oil pan skid plate possible a gas tank skid plate.

I think your kind of stuck with installing some spring spacers of something of the like. Camber will be interesting.

Just install e32 springs and struts up front, and a complete rear shock/spring assembly out back. That should stand you up +1" or so.

E32 stuff fits as well, but you'll need to mod the rear shock mounts to accept the spring cups from the E32 or E34 donor.

A better way is to space the subframes and upper shock mount points from the body to preserve suspension geometry. To reduce driveshaft wear, you'll want to equally space the center support bearing.

some people may think I'm insane but I was working on my car the other day and my dad got huge john deere flood lamps off a tractor which now are in place of where my destroyed fog lights were, and thought "this would really piss off the BMW purists" then I thought "whats the most opposite thing I can do to a luxury car" even though my car is far from luxury I want everyone to think "wtf has that guy done to that car?"

Don't get me wrong though I do believe BMW's in great shape should be preserved, but my car has door rust, fender rust etc.

Well Still looking to raise my car up. We recently got 5+ inches of snow and my buddies and I went off roading. Yes my e28 was the only car, I wasn't concerned if I got stuck because I was with 4 of my buddies with lifted trucks. Anyway definitely was a blast and almost could keep up with them in a lot of situations. Except one hill I was trying to climb I had to back down. Surprisingly I never got stuck.

I have 4 14 inch bottlecaps that are trash still looking to put some general AT2's (27/8.5/14) on them. I want to raise my car up with possibly e34 springs. I confirmed on here that they will fit the front but there wasn't much detail on the rear if you know anything let me know!.


I also plan on buying a eastwood fender roller to get the tires to fit too.I fabricated a mount to hold driving/fog lamps on the front this weekend while I had some spare time. lamps should be here sometime this week.

Merry christmas went down to a road/creek and had some fun today. The Ice dropoff was a good 5-6 inches and I thought for sure my car would scrape didn't at all! guess the e28 is a monster truck after all.

I like what you are doing to the car, looks like fun.

Life has kept me busy and still have been daily driving this beater up until recently. Now that It is a weekend car and I have another daily driver I want to still go about raising this thing. I have not posted about my car in a while but it has been through some deep shit with the all terrains I put on it 2 winters ago. I even pulled a f150 out of a ditch in a heavy ice storm.

I know there is a lot of talk on here about e34 springs fitting an e28. Does anyone have first hand experience with what fits and what doesn't? I'd really like to only purchase 1 set of e34 springs and get it right the first time. I don't want anything too extreme that camber begins to go positive, but a few inches would be awesome.

Ivo had E34 springs on his 524td. I believe they where 525tds springs.
