I saw these on VAC's website the other day. I was wondering what the measured power increase is with these? Is this a closeout price and they will never be produced again, or just a sale?

Maybe people with more expertise can chime in, but I thought lengthening the the intake manifold helped low end power but hurt high end power. I can't imagine it makes much if any difference, but I would think that it actual hurts peak power because that happens at higher RPM.

It is a close out price. We made some for a couple people who needed them and Paul Burke also wanted some made. We have no intentions of stocking back up once these are gone.

It will not hurt power anywhere. We don't really have any "stock vs this" for numbers because all the cars were either heavily modified or out of country.

However, the runners are not increasing in length. It is actually moving the velocity stack away from the back wall of the manifold to improve flow. If you have ever seen how close to the back wall the stacks are you would know what I mean. The small increase in plenum volume by getting the stack "out of the plenum" also increases TOP END power.

Thanks for the clarification.

you will need to add a little to the breather hose as the stock one will now not reach with the plenum pushed back

you can barely see the addition in the hose, i used a piece of pvc and a chunk of the old hose split to cover and hide it

more of a charismatic bit of trash that blew into the engine compartment then a airbox

once i weld the larger flange into the plenum to use a 3.5" MAF ill build a proper heat shield for a better filter, for now its free and took 12 seconds to make

not the first ghetto temp fix i've used, my e30 in the transition phase where it was on MSII but not supercharged yet, that mobil 1 bottle knocked 5-10* off highway air temps

same filter that is on the m635 now ;)

Interesting, thanks for the info Brody.

I'm also curious how many Gen III MAF kits do you have on S38 motors now? I've been eyeballing them for a while, but the few hick-ups some users have had, has made me cautious.

Forget the airbox, do you have another thread that talks about your ignition system? Looks nice.
