Times 2 on coilover brand...
Car looks great! My only bit of advice is less lurking more picture posting lol
If you have any desktops with the rack full of junk let me know, that would be a great wallpaper!

Good lord! Have you ever
driven one? You guys make fun of the eta, but it's a monster in the third world and is equipped comparably to the 535. Even the 520, which is a relative
powerhouse compared to the 518, is dreadfully slow and inept. There comes a point where lack of amenities and light weight simply cannot compensate for a lack of power. I have to wonder, with those wheels on it, if this car can even move under its own power ...

Power streering. And the headlight wipers are stock!
And the Coilovers are D2's. They are the only ones in Sweden. I mean, who wants to buy $ 1500 coilovers to a 518? : D

It'd be a great candidate for an M30B35 swap.

Nice looking car. An engine from an e30 318is would be an interesting engine swap.

I went on D2's site and the was no coilover for the e28. Did you use the e34 coilovers or does the 518i use the 3 series coils?

I know. D2 only make them when ordered. They don't have them in stock. Wierd that they don't have them on the website.
Don't know if the 3 series coils fit

I've driven all kinds of E28's and only the carb'd 518 is slow. A 520i isn't that bad and I think it is faster than a US 528e because we didn't had all the unnecessary US emision crap and the big, ugly mega bumpers.

Nice wheels.

I wish I could source the correct center caps for mine. Great looking car BTW.

Then I doubt that you've driven a US spec 528e. I owned one. They could match the 535 up to around 50 mph (80 kph) and their top speed was in the range of 115 mph (190 kph). I have also driven a perfectly maintained Euro 520 and I found it both slow and less than great handling (no or very small antiroll bars and undersized brakes). The seats weren't even very good. Both cars were driven near their limits on a well-known American race track where I could reach top speeds safely and reliably. I doubt the 520 can exceed 170-175 kph.

The 520i with Motronic are pretty fast, a guy from town had a E34 520i with only a tad smaller tires and this did 235kph on his speedo hitting the rev limiter.
If you compare a 520i to other 2 litre cars from the same period it is one of the fastesd. Only some Alfa Romeo's and Fiats are faster.
But aren't the seats the same as the 528e?

I don't disagree; but the 528e is nearly a 3 liter car.
But aren't the seats the same as the 528e?
Well, these weren't. They were cloth and seemed to have very little thigh support. They reminded me of my old 2002 seats. The 528e generally had leather comfort seats.

Is that color Delphin Gray??? It looks a little lighter, but I may be wrong - could be the camera.
