mania! I went to a Donington test day on Friday, for those who don't know, a test day differs from a track day in some crucial areas... at track days, only passing on straights with permission, no racing, and strictly no pushing people off the track... test days are "racing rules", or, do whatever the hell you want.

Now, at this test day, there were some of last years academy guys, the white/yellow car, blue/red, and black with "CATERHAM" across the back are all roadsport spec cars, and are ~ 1 second-2 seconds a lap faster than our cars. The black and green cars in front of me at the beginning are Academy cars, and the crazy looking orange one that passes me at one point is also an Academy car. Those 3 cars are the current guys at the top of the group two leader board, they're the ones that spend all the money on instructors and track days, so in theory should be faster than me...
I am seriously happy that I stayed with them, and even happier I had more pace through some corners compared with them. Basically it means I'll be heading my group come the first race at Donington on July 14th.
Here's a course map, we do the GP circuit, and on race day it will be the same, so Melbourne hairpin will be the overtaking zone of the season!

I'm still waiting on some mye28 decals to put on... those will fit nicely on the car.
