Ever since I got my 17s I am weary of the suspension in my car. When the 17s were on, a clunking from the front right developed(goes away when I hit the brakes), I think it may be the wheel bearing. Since I put my punney winter tires on the clunking is gone. But now when I hit the brakes it wants to go right, its not like im fighting to keep it straight, but if I have a weak hold on the wheel it'll pull. Also after braking at 50+ the wheel shimmies back and forth till I slow to about like 40. The previous owner had the whole front susp rebuilt not to long ago. What could be going on here?

Check you upper strut bearings. They will make that sound. I would suspect those before I do the wheel bearing.

My car started the same pull and clunk on one side once I put my snows on. I had it up last week and confirmed upper strut bearing. HMMM...this seems like a good time to do some Bilstein Sports / BavAuto springs along with the new strut bearings.

You read my mind

How exactly would I go about confirming this being the prob?

It sounds like the control arms, which could go south in a hurry with large wheels/tires if it's OEM components. I'd also check my brake hoses, when were they replaced?

Check the brake caliper too ... I had a similar problem, the boot on the caliper had a hole in it and brake wasn't releasing all the way. It varied in how severe it was.

It caused pulling problems and the shimmy ... e34 calipers and rotor now and no shimmy, pulling, ... just smooth ....
