The guy that WAS driving the other one sold it to me....thank goodness. His mother in law gave it to him while he fixed up his "muddin jeep." He drove it here from Cali, with the ORIGINAL Cali vanity plates on it, titled it here in TN and drove it for a month. I saw it for sale up the road from me, and on craigslist and immediately called up one of the TNEuros members who had inquired about my 87 VW Cabby. He came and got the cabby that night, and the next day I was the proud owner of the IS.

I feel I saved her from imminent death.

I'm looking for a front valance for mine....any leads?

You're right. At ~$35k each that just cost us at least $210,000 just for those munitions, not to mention fuel and maintenance on the delivery birds. Napalm and WP dumb bombs nearly as effective at a fraction of the price.

It's also cheese-dick to sit back 3-400 yards and watch rather than getting your ass in the fight. Why let the flyboys have all the fun?

Murf, I'm perfectly willing to sit back @ 300 meters and watch the show, if that means my grunts are kept out of harm's way from a friendly fire incident. I want their asses to fry, not ours. FWIW, JDAM giudance packages could be put on combustible munitions as well. 6 eggs on the A.P. is a bunch better than scattering things across half of the parking lot. CEP of <10 meters? I'll take it...

My point is what's the utility of having boots on the ground if they are to be little more than spectators and cannon fodder for IED's and random mortar attacks? It's not as though we're winning any 'hearts and minds' in this campaign. I was there in '01 at the beginning of it all at Camp Devil Dog near Kandahar. I haven't seen much if any progress since that time. In fact, our tactics seem to have regressed to a point of being extremely wasteful. The Chinook downed by a lucky shot in the Tangi Vally last August, killing nearly 40 servicemen was due in large part to sloppy procedures and faulty SOP's. You'd think we would have learned something from our time in Mogadishu.

It's time to put our country first and extricate ourselves from these countries filled largely by thankless natives. If the locals can't take matters into their own hands to effect regime change then they deserve to live under the Taliban. Even with us there for the past decade they continue to prefer their old masters. Time to pull chocks.

Sounds like one heck of an intervention. Yeah, I think I saw you driving the other day and noticed the lack of a front air dam but saw the rear spoiler on the trunk. Sorry, don't know of anyone that has one available. I'm not too involved in the BMW scene around here...never seem to have the time. Never even heard of the TNEuros. Is that a club here in Clarksville?

I'm tired of the US Military being the world's police force. Let's focus on fixing our immediate domestic issues so that we have a healthy, stable society that can withstand an extended conflict with a future enemy when it happens.

TNEuros.com is the local (and state wide) European car enthusiasts group. I hate to use the world club, it's more of a large European Automobile owners support group if you will.
