has anyone ever seen E39 M5 wheels on an E28? i can't find any pictures anywhere, i'm sure they would require some fender rolling in the rear, but would be worth it if they look awesome.

Go watch the 2010 movie Machete, Jessica Alba drives around the whole movie in an e28 with style 65's. I just bought some for my e24, 17" reps for $100. If you search this forum, the style 65's get crapped on for e28 use. I don't understand why--but sometimes people just want something to complain about. I think they are the best looking wheel BMW has made in 15 years.

Style 65s are too big to work properly on an E28 and are fugly.

i was talking about the excel spread sheet. i thought it was .PDF, my bad. I already used the search function, i cannot find any pictures of an E28 with style 65's on it. FACTORY style 65's, not replica's. the style 65's are the same size as M parallels from an E38, and everyone puts those things on E28's... so i don't think they are too big. there are plenty of ugly chrome 17's out there that are much heavier. i have even seen 19 x 10 rear wheels on one! I loved them on my E39 M5. I was really just looking to see if anyone had a picture of an E28 with factory 18 inch style 65's on it because i did search and came up with nothing.

thanks for your suggestion hotwatermusic

18's? 18" is too big, no matter what the wheel style. The body style just doesn't support a wheel size that big, let alone the suspension. 18" and up wheels just look comical on BMW's from the 80's. The bodies are too small for the wheel.

Really? E24 and E23s look stupid with 18'' wheels?

Yah, Oooookay...

Yes, stupid and ridiculous. Save your 18"-19" wheels for the bloat-mobiles that come later, leave them off the 28's and 24's.

I cannot believe I am even debating this with someone.

Well, we're going to put the subject wheels on an M6...

I don't think it's a bad choice at all, but it is THE outside limit for what i think is appropriate. I happen to like 16s and 17s, but i'm cheap and don't like expensive rubber.

edit: Not the GREATEST pic..

There's an E12 in there too, both with 16 inch reps.

I happen to like the style 65, but not the 18" on the E28.
Yes that's ice, and yes that's in H-town, brrrrrr...

I'd go for at least 45mm. 60 if you can get them.

You only need hubcentric rings to avoid vibration, you can find them on ebay for $10-20. Go look.

*Note:

I have never used hub-centric rings before, nor have I ever purchased anything from ECS Tuning. Therefore, I cannot actually recommend them. However, after doing a search, I found this and thought it would be helpful to the original poster.
