you double posted. What radio is that?
It's interesting the AEM works so much better than the Innovate
Klientzle MCR 1016BT. Made out of unobtanium but pretty awesome (no line-level outputs, so good for a POS car like Maytag that doesn't get a separate amp).
I've been avoiding driving Maytag because it's been 7 1/2 years since I put the engine in and I'm nervous about the timing belt. It only has 6k miles on it, and is probably fine, but the downside is too great.
I have all the parts and have just been waiting to get the Datsun Roadster project behind me. While that car is not even near done, it's at a point where I want to switch focus back to my E28s. So top priority for me is Maytag.
If it’s any sort of consolation, my dad’s 528e has a 12 year old continental brand timing belt with probably 40k miles on it, and it still is visually okay. I realize there’s always the possibility of things coming apart, but I can’t say I’ve seen a timing belt break on a car in the shop that didn’t have massive cracking on the teeth and outside of the belt. And we’ve changed many that looked horrible and were still hanging in there.
