Get over it, god damn this forum gets the most HIGH RANK PUSSY on the planet. FTW! (fixes for ya, Mike)

I honestly expected the E9 board to top this place, seeing as it's an older car, older demographic, but jesus christ, you people are just insane. You're all crazy in-laws.[/quote]

I'm dumbfounded that some people here are so hung up on wording in an article posted on stanceworks. It's an opinion of a person or group of people who are involved in a form of car culture that is different then what you might be into. Do you get this bent out of shape when you read anything on the internet you don't agree with? That's gotta be tiring.

Don't hate me! It's not completely my speed, but I'd rock the hell out of it and I admire the work and art of it!

You're parading around this thread talking down to people when in reality, bud, no one started any drama. It was all you.

I'm not here to talk shit or point fingers...

Your words here don't fit with what you wrote here:
"The bumpers and front end are 100% original, no wanna-be swap here."

Putting Jeremy's car completely aside here, I find it ironic that you pose the way do with your mods and throw little jabs like this in about other people who modify their E28s. It is hypocritical.

I can now throw the exact same argument you've been dishing out for so long right back in your face;
So what if my car isn't a true euro car? It's my car and my choice to take the US bumpers off and convert my front end and bumpers to what I believe is the way BMW designed the car. Actually, that is the way BMW designed the car and not my belief, but who are you tell me what I can and cannot believe?

So, do I deserve to be called a "wanna be" because I hung euro bumpers on my US car? I've never talked or even had ill thoughts towards you or your work, but when throw out insults in your articles directed to your other "brethren" of BMW owners who make modifications, it just makes you look to be the dick. I do take offense to that comment in your article and find it condescending.
Not sure how to put this one, but you took that the wrong way. It's a joke. My own car is a wannabe car. Relax a bit. I'd put euro bumpers on US cars every day of the week. It's cool. I support it.

We're all euro wanna-bes and that's 100% okay. It's the truth. We want our cars to look like the european counterparts. Jeremy's is the real deal, aka not a wanna-be. ;)

Don't be so quick to take things personally. Sorry that you interpreted it the way you did, bud.
 Nice backpedaling. You play violin, too?
Honestly, in what way was I backpedaling? You do realize that my own personal car has a set of euro bumpers waiting to go on, right? Get over it, god damn this forum is the biggest group of vaginas on the planet.

I honestly expected the E9 board to top this place, seeing as it's an older car, older demographic, but jesus christ, you people are just insane. You're all crazy in-laws.
Dang dude, take a chill pill. I don't think it's strange how two different people had a similar reaction to your response.

I rarely share my thoughts on your stuff, and when I do I get called a vagina and a crazy in-law just because it's not what you want to hear. I was merely pointing out a flaw in your writing style that I took as a jab towards the way I choose to modify my cars and maybe, just maybe, you'd see that as a way to look outside the box to reach a larger audience. Remind me again the point of an internet forum that no one shares their thoughts on? I think you like the drama that comes from all this. If you didn't like the drama and acted like a real man, then you'd just shut the fuck up. I also think that going from the statements you made in your article about Jeremy's car to the whole thing being a joke is the exact definition of backpedaling.

Just to be clear here: This is not to be interpreted as negative thoughts on the car being discussed in this thread. I really think it's a cool looking car and couldn't care less what someone wants to do with their own car. Good job, Moose!

Are you dumbfounded that we don't lightly accept insults? Because that's what the issue came down to. Burroughs felt he had to take his little digs at those who have different taste in cars than he does and he got called on it. Then he got all butt-hurt and tried to make it all a joke. Now he continues to do so as we call him out on that (and fails to take a joke as lightly as he thinks we should take his ). You'd think additional years would equal additional maturity. Apparently, Stanceworks is also about arrested development.

The way I interpreted it was a joke, just a little bit of ribbing. The car stated as the previous leader of the pack is a "wanna-be" car, obviously is not a serious comment. I wouldn't hesitate to swap Euro bumpers onto a US car, and neither should anyone else. Calm down.

Scratch everything. You guys are 100% right.

I'm caught up in internet drama and am certainly butthurt over the topic, and yes, it's sad.

Why does this suck? I LOVE E28s. They are, without question, favorite BMW ever produced. I want to love and be a part of this community but seriously, half of you guys can't take the smallest of jokes. You can't take the smallest bit of criticism, and you can't even "appreciate" anything different.

I know I'm caught up in internet drama... It's sad. But it kills me to see not just one person, but half of this site just acting in sheer ridiculousness.

I mean for heaven's sake, I post a car I truly love and express my thoughts and all I hear is how wrong I am and how stupid my website is. Seriously?

I know most of you guys plain 'ol don't like me, and that's cool. But Jeremy's car is seriously sick. Maybe you guys don't like our "stanceworks" scene and that's cool, no worries. We're not asking you to. But in our world, which is a big one, Jeremy's car is kicking ass and my only attempt is to show off his car for him. It's called appreciating someone's work.

If it ain't your style, so be it. Say so, even. But there's no need for the high and mighty attitudes we've got going here. So you think it's pointless and stupid, that's 100% fair. I think things are pointless and stupid too but I'm not going to rub it in your face.

We're all here because we love E28s. There aren't a lot of us, as let's face it, these are sometimes silly cars. But we've all got that in common.

It's a shame some of you think my "wannabe" comments are against anyone, because it's simply a joke. As said, I personally have euro bumpers for my American car. Obviously it's a joke, and if you can't take that, lighten up a bit. ;)

With the new generation of kids getting in to cars and there being an obvious gap between those who are in to performance and those who are in to looks, think of it this way:

You may not understand the stretched tire/poked wheel/super low stance stuff... but I equate it to a girl in high-heeled shoes. Who cares if she can't run a mile right now? She looks great, and if she does need to go running, she can throw on some running shoes... at the gym.

So with all of this long ramble coming to and end, to those of you who have been offended by what I've written, sorry you felt that way, and sorry I came across that way. As said, I'm just another E28 lover.

But lastly, you guys have to chill out just as much as I do. I wasn't kidding when I said some of you are like crazy in-laws.

Dwarf (Mike): So in essence, stanceworks is a joke. Works for me.

For the record, I couldn't care less if anyone likes my car. It's MY car. I post here to get feedback good or bad as well as recommendations from fellow enthusiasts who know more than I do regarding these cars.

With regard to interior I had a stock interior with fresh leather, etc.. and felt the car would serve ME better with some modification. I track the car regularly and OE seats don't fit my frame. Harnesses and Sparcos fit me and the suede matches my steering wheel and shift boot. A 'stanced' vehicle, lacking bags, cannot be driven to its full potential. This would seem to defeat the purpose of an engine upgrade.

An audio system does not imply and db drag racing competition vehicle. I enjoy listening to my music loud when enjoying a drive. The OE system is outdated and IMO garbage. My system is all aftermarket and sounds amazing to my ear. It also turned out the extra gear yielded a 50/50 weight bias. Bonus

With the article being a joke and a blatant attempt at advertisement and self congratulation I total get it now. My initial reaction was shock that anyone would seriously think this particular vehicle was the ultimate anything. Sarcasm doesn't always come across in print. Having seen (and taken second place at Monterey two years ago to) RonP's H5S in the flesh I couldn't believe anyone would honestly think that the subject of this ridiculous (and now tongue-in-cheek) thread was the "cleanest, best executed E28 around". If anyone still feels this way you need to get out more, or search this forum. I should have picked up on the hint at the beginning of the article regarding Austin's 535i. I've also seen his car in the flesh and aside from the obnoxious white M-Systems with turbine covers it was nothing special. I suppose Moose's car can assume that title.

So what you're saying is, you don't like that someone didn't say your car was the best E28?

......I donno what to say man. I'm not clear on what these insults are. When I read it I never once thought there was anything in the article that was jab at other e28 owners. It was written mostly for members of the "stanced" community, so it sounds like he's saying the bar got raised for e28s that are going for that look. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't think so. I just wish there wasn't such an "us vs. them" mentality among bmw enthusiasts. Oh well.

"Oh well." is right. I track my car. I autocross my car. I drive my car hundreds of miles to places like Watkins Glen, the Pittsburgh Vintage GP, and other places further away than the Burger King down the street (and I've never changed a broken oil pan). I like the E28 pretty much as BMW built it, so I don't mess much with its looks. Stanceworks fans don't do any of that. So how can there NOT be "us" and "them"? I don't go out of my way to stir shit other than occasionally pointing out that their cars can't do any of the stuff mine does on a daily basis because they're all about looks. But when they demean me because of how I (and others like me) use my car, they can expect to get it back. Now, maybe there were some communication problems here, but whose fault is that? It's not like I'm not speaking English ... :poke:

When stupefied and dumbfounded with no coherent retort resort to posting silly pics or dumb video segments. This confirms we are attempting to communicate with immature little boys. Thanks, I already had put that together.

I had many point out that I'd 'purpose defeated' my Ta'Hoe with the modifications. It became a lousy grocery getter. Dropping the suspension on an E28 similarly purpose defeats a fairly capable sportscar by forcing the driver to drive like a granny and still scrape the crap out of the underbody. BTDT and its no fun. Like I've already stated, once you grow up and tire of the bullshit perhaps you'll understand. For now I suppose you can enjoy your little boys club devoted to admiration of your silly go-carts and rattle traps.

It comes down to taking criticism. If you can't take the good and bad then don't post it. I gave both. I happen to appreciate the photography as well.

Firstly,

Secondly,

The car drove over 700 miles this past weekend up to Tennesse from GA, around Tennesse, and back to GA. It is currently my daily driver now, and does far more than a run down to Burger king. As previously stated the pan is now up out of harm's way, so you are beating a dead horse.

Thirdly,

When have myself, or any other Stanceworks members demeaned you for how you use your car? I remember making one jab at your wheel choice (after you criticized another members wheels) but can't remember anything beyond that, as I honestly don't have a problem with how you use your car. It is simply not the route we choose to go.

You use your car for track and auto-x, we get it, thank you. I have a car that is "too low" most of the time too and with an hour of adjustments and a wheel/tire swap its a capable auto-x car as well, am I us or them? Never broken an oil pan either. I fail to see where the demeaning is coming from, I must've missed it, but it is probably due to the fact that you are always in these threads being a jackass. You saw the thread title, you know what's inside, so move onto the next thread.. It's that easy! Regardless of taste, we are all passionate about the same cars and that is why we are all here. I've only been into this and the stanceworks community for a short time so let me offer an unbiased opinion. Its obvious to me that if there is an us vs. them attitude at all, it definitely exists on this site. Through my browsing of both sites I can honestly say that there is not a 5 page long thread on stanceworks with a bunch of butt hurt guys bashing the mye28 community for building our cars they way we like them. Or should I say keeping our cars exactly the way BMW likes them? Nitpicking at this dudes car or the author of the articles choice of words just makes everyone involved look silly and immature. Are people really this offended about this article? Really? Its obvious that the article wasn't a cheap shot at anybody who doesn't own a true euro. Most of us don't and from what I understand, neither does the author. The article was written to and for members in a certain community. Taking the article out of that context, then making it into something that you want it be, then getting mad about the new fictional meaning that you've given to it is just borderline retarded. Sorry if I stepped on any toes or cost myself some friends in this community, but as a new guy it just seems silly to see this thread every day with the same old argument.
