A couple of updates;
#1 - I got the Allstate settlement in the mail today.
Seems I misunderstood the Total Loss Dept. rep when I agreed to the settlement.
I'm sure I was told they were valuing the car at $3,000.00.
The reality is, that the total settlement, value placed on the car, was $3,603.40

with a salvage buy-back of $103.40.
That made me

when I opened the envelope.
Off to the bank tomorrow where I'll let the money set for a few days before forwarding to our mortgage company.
Come the end of this year, we'll be walking on our paid for grass. That feeling should really bring a

to anybody's face.
Good does come out of even the things that hurt.
(I knew this already, from experience, not just faith)
#2 - My wife said, "you did an excellent job Mike".
But, as to them hanging above the fireplace, she said, "not just no, but, HELL NO".
