Exhaust manifold number 2
2hour job and it is in this condition....
model is "straight & short"
this type manifold will be able to spool up much larger turbo in diesel....

Finally i got inspired with my second exhaust manifold....
I spent about 20hours with this one (Total hours)
Heat treatment, machining and paint.... and it is ready...

I has no parts for my car... so must do something creative...
this was project of the evening...
i spent only 2 hours with this one...

It is 3.5" absorption muffler made from old fire extinguisher!
inner perforated sheet tube is from old hydraulic filter
now little bit black matte paint and it is nice ;)

What material are the studs made from? Studs like that with cut threads are not as strong as studs with rolled threads.

studs are made from 12.9 bolts... by local bolt shop
i know that cut thread is weaker but that is quite minor problem

Almost all boost pipes where made from scrap metal pipes etc...
needs only little bit grinding and paint...

So... This is exhaustmanifold for my 1700cc lada engine
Turbo is custom made racing hybrid turbo charger
(Holset H1C/H1E) turbine chamber is ported to larger scale but still smalle that in Holset H1D Made by Timo Lehtimäki
