So it looks like .450 to .500 is the sweet spot for lift. What kind of overlap will you run? Will the thing idle smoothly or be a bit lumpy?

Got-em!

Finding 1985 RX7 GSL (FB) rear brakes is not easy. I joined a RX7 forum and found these from a guy parting out his car. Everything is in great shape (even the rotors) and will need some cleaning and painting. No red brakes on my Tiger thank you.

I paid $250 shipped for all.......except the SS brake lines. I found those from another member.

Decided to buy new rotors ($33). Looks like getting the center opening machined to 3.250" is going to be a PITA. Several machine shops told me they could not do it.

So, when I find someone who can, it will be with new rotors.

What is the current/stock center opening ID? I'd think that would be a piece of cake for almost any CNC machining system that has the capacity for the OD of the rotor.

Found a shop -

Curtis Farley Engines Inc - Precision Machining, CNC turning, milling, drill & tap Quality since 1959

I think they will use a lath to turn the ID.

Its a 15 minute drive from my house.

Once I knew that machine work was not going to be too easy to find (it turned out it was), I bought new rotors. Would just be stupid to not go new. They were only $16 each.

We have movement!

Install day -

Left side before,

Right Side after,

Gotta get out and do the left side now. Once they are in place, I can take measurements for the brake lines and get them. I then need to tackle the parking brake cable modification and then attachment. Right now, will only have it on the left side.

DONE!

Tiger parking brake cable heavily modified to work with RX7 caliper. Used parts off of the RX7 cable to get it to work.

Bought a new tool...a Swaging Tool, worked great and was only $27.

System bled and ready to go.....just need the snow to melt now.

I learned much about cables (steel rope) and swaging attachments. Most sailing rigs use "swagless" fittings. This is so that can easily make repairs while at sea. I tried to use a swagless fitting but it turned out to be too long for my application.

New engine mounts modified and ready. Due to the very close clearances, there are no options for after market mounts.

Just purchased the heads! AFR 185 PN 1388 with "upgraded" springs from the guy in a previous post.

They have 3K miles on them and were on a show car. Got them and the roller rockers for $700 less than retail.

Will drop them off at my machine shop (yes, found one I can call mine) to be cleaned and check once they arrive.

Just talked with the guy who blueprinted and balanced the short block. Because the engine was externally balanced with a flexplate, the crank will have to come out and be rebalanced with the flywheel and pressure plate. No big deal, will give me an opportunity to check his measurements.

COMP Cams Pro Magnum Rocker Arms:
1.6:1 Chromemoly steel.
Lower profile than aluminum rockers (will fit under my valve covers), lighter and stronger than aluminum too.

They sell for $380, I got them for $100 shipped.
