I have used it on streets for about 3000km for now and no problems yet.
CNC machined M20 flywheel + m30 disk (with custom frictions) + audi S4 pressure plate.
pressure plate is mounted according to pressure test.
Does anybody know any SFI approved clutch setup for M20?
Local drag rules require SFI clutch, so I have to change it.

Wow your right, thanks for the heads up. This was a stock M10 flywheel machined for a Tilton setup, it was also lightened quite a bit . I bought it like this and it was actually a triple disc but was missing a floater plate and disc, they were nla so I had the cover plate legs machined down to use it as a twin disc.Big Bronze Rim wrote:In regards to the Tilton setup, what needs to be done to the flywheel? Also modified the stock clutch fork to make it work and extended the master cylinder rod. Took me about 6 times taking the tranny in and out to make it work.
So far I have replaced the disc's once, still available through tilton. The GM splines are a touch loose and not recommended by Tilton, BMW splines are smaller.
Streetable? well not really with the cintered metallic disc's, engagment is instant and abrupt, but if you slip it too much it greatly reduces the life on the disc's.
I have not checked but there might be an organic replacement disc's that would make it more streetable.


Actually the custom disc is like stock. Only the chopper content is a bit bigger in the frictions. The disc mod cost lika $40 or something.Big Bronze Rim wrote:The key is he had a custom disc made. It's one of the materials that Clutchmasters makes their discs out of. It's supposed to be comparable to the Kevlar disc as far as holding ability and streetability but be a bit more tolerant to heat. FWIW, It appears that most of their Porsche offerings are made of it. I believe that Todd ran the same clutch on his car when it made 440wtq and ran a low 12 second 1/4 mile.
Hopefully Todd will chime in and confirm or correct me, but since I'm pretty sure thast CM made the clutches for UUC I would guess it's the same disc.Jeremy wrote:I'm pretty sure that was the UUC organic. 12/10/2009 - I received my Clutchmasters clutch yesterday from Todd and it looks awesome. It is a custom built unit that met all of the requirements - hold over 500ft-lb of torque as well as be streetable. It has a unique clutch disc that is unlike anything in their catalog. It uses a segmented Fiber Tough material on a full disc with a marcel spring and sprung hub. The PP is their modified Sachs unit. It also comes with a Sachs TO bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool. I am excited to get it installed, I'm just waiting on another shipment of parts as well as trying to track down a spare single mass flywheel so I can have it machined and keep driving the car.
