Thanks guys for the nice words, im glad you like the car!

Sorry about the pants, but regarding the supension, its modified original parts for now, extended to make more possibilities when it comes to wheel alignment optimized for racing with slick tires. Its no NASA technology, just plain and simple amateur engineering that has paid off in the race.ealinn wrote:this really is amazing, had to change my pants. Where did you come up with the extended suspension bits?

A very nice car, and properly built. Perfect.
I have a specialised shop in the Netherlands , especially for E34 M5 , E28 M5 and E30.
We use an E30 ALPINA C1 2.5 racecar ( track) and in feb 2008, I built a 'new' driftcar out of a 1986 M535i. Its a bit of a low-budget start, further improvements will follow. Weight is 1134 kilos without driver , and no carbon or fibreglass parts. Doors have been cut out.
Pictures can be found on M5board.com E28 section
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e28-m5 ... story.html
this car is setup for drifting only, and a lot of changes have already been made since those pictures.
I'm very interested in your bodykit, would it be possible to visit Sweden and have a look at the car in real life?
best regards,
Wout

Your project seem to be well built as well !
You are always welcome to have a look at the cars if you happens to be in the neighborhood, although the M5 CSL are a little wrecked right now as we crashed out on the final lap of the season, but it will soon be back in same condition as before. Its stripped down at the moment.
Cheers!

Thanks
our car has been yo-yo ing with weight, it got a bit more because of bigger wheels, now its less again because of the doors being differently made again and the windows being replaced. My goal is sub 1100 kilos with driver.
Engine will be replaced with a fresh one with trick cam and Weber carbs + MSD ignition, headers etc etc.
I'll see if I can come down to Sweden sometime, have promised some Swedish M5board members a visit ass swell
Good luck with the repairs, I have no doubt it will rise again, better yet

Mats - that car really is the epitome of what one of these can morph into, and my hat is off to the engineering .....Many of us in the states would pay a premium for quality lightweight components for these cars....I have recently searched extensively for a carbon fibre hood, and they are nowhere to be had....I bet you could sell a few dozen hoods and front quarter panels for these cars in a heartbeat if you were to organize a group buy on this forum alone...

Actually, we will produce hoods and trunks for the E28. also some various front spoilers that also replaces the bumper, would be something for you guys who would like to replace them huge US bumpers for a more Euro look.rylee wrote:Mats - that car really is the epitome of what one of these can morph into, and my hat is off to the engineering .....Many of us in the states would pay a premium for quality lightweight components for these cars....I have recently searched extensively for a carbon fibre hood, and they are nowhere to be had....I bet you could sell a few dozen hoods and front quarter panels for these cars in a heartbeat if you were to organize a group buy on this forum alone...![]()

Also front wings for the standard car will be available.
Hood and trunk is also produced with the inner frame glued onto the hood skin, so the "original look" is striking.
Will be back with pics and prices of this parts shortly, and of course, a group buy would be necessary since the freight over to the US will be prefered in containership i guess.
A cool pic made with a long shutter delay and some special equipment... Anyone wanna guess at what speed this pic was taken?

This pic was taken the evening before the final race of 2009, the next day we crashed the car...

e28 taillights
Can you tell me where i can find the tailights you placed to your car?
Re: e28 taillights
x2. Beautiful car, the taillights are probably the only thing I could afford on it.steve1968 wrote:Can you tell me where i can find the tailights you placed to your car?

Gray635 was selling a set last year, you might want to ask him. http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=70176&highlight=steve1968 wrote:Can you tell me where i can find the tailights you placed to your car?

Hi guys!
Sorry for the bad updates on this thread.
The car has been competing this year as well, but with minor sucess. The clutch blew out after 4 laps into qualification on the first race of the year, next weekend, the motor ECU went bad and no more race that weekend either.
Then a few wet race weekends where the 335mm wide rear tires struggle for grip (even though they are grooved in rain setup).
The final race will be on October 9, and hopefully some good results then.
The M5 CSL is at BMW Sweden at this moment for the preimere of the new 5-series Touring model, they wanted some colourful attraction to get people to attend to the event.

The tail lights are produced by ourselves, and we do sell them. At the moment we are out of stock, as these babies tend to get sold out prettty quickly once we make a few.
Normally we do have a shop at www.kinnby.nu/shop , but its down at the moment. It will however get back up and running shortly.
More pictures from this years season will be posted here shortly, some bad ass race pics

Would you consider selling individual sets of widebody kits at a very high price instead of doing a group order? (To make it worth your time, materials, expertise, and cost of shipping 1 set to the U.S.) i.e. - $2000-3000(U.S.) or so? How much would make it worth your while? Maybe you can fund your racing selling these. I love your car too much to not have one myself.

Picture shows pit crew investigating what the mechanical terrible sound was, we found out it was the clutch blew out and destoyed the gearbox...

Instead of racing, it ended up resting in the box...

The engine, while the clutch was blown.

A few E28 enthusiast are visiting the box and taking pictures of the M5 CSL, they had only seen it on the web up until this point, and are impressed about how much wider, lower and cruel it looks in real, haha, this we actually hear a lot. Pictures really do not do the car justice, it just wont tell the truth of its dimensions!

From our latest race, this pic is take on the final laps of the second race, the front wheels are covered in brake dust, a few moments later the gear linkage was snapped off and the car was put to rest along the trackside... Bad luck continues...

And finally, a few pics of our race mechanics, it would not be the same to go racing without them, they keep the spirit real high when results seem to be out of reach...

Will find some more photos and post here real soon.
Race On!

Unfortunately not. We are using a 5-speed on this one, my opinion is that the S38 is strong enough to manage a 5-speed, no need for the closer 6-speed, at least not when having 4,27:1 in the rear differential as we do.dunnojack wrote:omg... car looks so sexy... are euro 6-speeds from the e34 m5 easy finds out there?
