Give us a couple of years, and we'll probably be in the same boat.

my 2 cents...if you reside in america, keep a loaded b!tch under the bed...(shotty)

if you don't, keep a tomfa or alloy baseball bat in your bedroom...

i've been party to home invasions / "robberies" before....you do NOT want to be forced to defend without assistance...

concerning kids, if the gun has an empty chamber, it's almost as good as an empty gun in my eyes...seen any kids trying to pump a shotty or pull a slide recently?...

if you decide to arm yourself, be prepared to train with whatever it is....

Great minds think alike. I've got a Remington 870 with a lovely wooden stock in the closet and a lifetime supply of ammo. It makes my home safer for children.
Everything else is locked up, though, of course.

Recently got a Glock 23 Gen 4. I always resisted Glocks for some reason, but really like this one. Got a Fist IWB leather holster (the #1A, if I remember correctly, with a low-riding clip) and 3-dot night sights.
Not sure if the weight matters much, but I thought that 180 grains made the most sense so I have tons of AE and a few boxes of PDX1's.
