Well, my 86 535i does have abs...but it has never been used- I have been to so many 'High Performance' driving (safety) schools that I feel my training has given me the skills to render it unnecessary. It would be a shock to my (and my passengers') system were I to engage it...I can lock up the wheels if needed with firm braking, which maintains my braking skills up to snuff.
