UPDATE
After some more considerations on how to improve the design even further, we have come up with a potential solution to improve the design. We are still working out the details but it seems to be feasible.
While the version offered with the bushing will for sure be sufficient to survive longer than the rest of the car and the bushing design totally appropariate for the application, there is a way to take it one step further.
As discussed with some of you guys in the beginning of the project it would be nice to allow to compensate for some of the rotational forces as well as compensate for flexing in the pedal box. The use of a rod end swivel joint was discussed but unfortunately the design wouldn’t allow us to use one due to limited space.
This is what we have:
This swivel joints are not cheap and we have to do some designing, but would be able to offer this as an upgrade option. Most likely it will cost about $55-60 more to realize.
I don’t think it is absolutely necessary but would improve the function and endurance of the part.
What do you guys think?
If there is enough interest, i will simply communicate this as an option once the preorder phase is over.
