Exactly, haha! The 3:15 is much more tame....almost too much. But the MPG are nice. Just over 300 miles on a tank lol. I am going to drop it back out sometime (when I have anther car to drive for a bit) and put in an LS unit, but for now it gets the job done.

Not much to update except I got this schnazzy M5 rep center console.



Need to wrap it, but IDK what in. Going to do the headliner, pillars, shift, and parking brake boot in beige/parchment suede. Yeah, yeah, I actually like the parchment.

Rear-ended an Acura.

Basically the car I hit hit the car in front of her. I heard screeching tires, but of course, by the time I realized it was the car in front of me I was fucked. Had Erika and the baby too. I just said, "Hang on, we're not gonna make it". BOOM. It was on a bridge too, so no escape left. Traffic on the right. Was gonna install my bigger brakes and some SS lines this or next week too. Oh well.

Everything from the fan up is fucked. Fenders are done up front, but nothing was pushed back at the door seam, so I think it's all isolated to the bumper/core support. Luckily I have that 530 and it's the same color. Waterpump is probably done too. It's all stuck solid from the radiator (new) being pushed back. Euro trim is fucked too, 1 week old, just put it on before Vintage. Of course wide grilles are done, but still have the original skinnys.

No one was hurt, but I've been raging. Cops had the car towed and I had to pay $425 to get it this morning. $225 "hook up" fee and $50 storage for "three" days....it was there less than 36 hours. Got them to knock off 1 day, but fuck they're bastards. Fuck towing companies....pirates.

Only had liability on the car, so I'm fixing it between tonight and tomorrow. Looking at radiator options since I may as well use this as an excuse to go upgraded, Mishimoto or whatever.

Still sucks. E46 decided to take a dump before Vintage and I haven't had time to diag it, much less fix it. So I'm down to borrowing two cars from the parents.

That sucks unbelievably. Glad you're (family too!) ok, sheesh. Is that an airbag wheel on that E34, and did it go off?

That towing bs sounds like robbery, plus it puts you down a few hundred towards the repairs you intend to make so they can fatten their wallets at your expense and misfortune. Again, sorry to hear.

DAMN that's a huge bummer man! Glad everyone is ok. Can't imagine having this happen right after all that work went into it. Sounds like it's a promising recovery ahead of you. I'll stay tuned for the fix! Good luck!

Yup, airbag wheel and passenger airbag. Didn't go off though, and they are properly wired up. Was just in there (Autologic) clearing a SRS code after I had the steering wheel off two weeks ago.

Glad you made it out ok with the family. You're lucky that someone didn't tag you in the back too if it all happened so fast.

The only thing worse than lawyers are tow truck operators (and storage lots).

I don't understand about the choice of destinations, not that anything can be done now, butt...
I've never had, and there have been a couple of situations, any trouble on the destination choice.

Cops radioed in for the first available tow.

I don't get how it's $225 hook up fee to tow it 3.4 miles, yes I Google mapped it. We get stuff towed into work from further and the bills, for the customers, are under $100. We don't do the towing either. Customer calls and has it towed in.

I think the rednecks running the place saw BMW and went cha-ching. I'll be sending them a letter.....

Wonder if you could have used AAA instead of the police mandated tow. Daughter recently was in this exact same predicament just that it happened with a 2000 Beetle.
$265.00 later and I had it in my garage. Of course I did not think about the AAA option until my daughter had already paid for the tow to the house.

Believe me, it's been a wake-up call to get AAA. It's cheaper than my insurance tow coverage, which I, apparently, only had on the one car, and not the wagon. Go figure.

Stripped the fenders and front off the 530 last night in a thunderstorm....outside. Also somehow lost my skinny grilles. Oh well. Time to source a new radiator and waterpump, along with fan and can clutch.

Looks like I'll be cutting and welding. Messed with straightening the pieces last night and it's not going to happen in a way that I'm happy with.

I would've thought it was closer to 827kgs. My favorite is when you knock the broom handle out while loading in a bass amp, the gate catch inbeds itself in the back of your head at a force of 648.3nm causing the felanges to lose grip on the amp and get crushed against the broken scuff trim, whilst the protruding disc in your lower back finally herniates. Thankfully, the glass portion of the tail gate that had remained upright until this moment decides to follow its larger steel brothers path of glory, and provides that final impact necessary to rupture both testicles that were resting on the towbar hitch.

That was... graphic... and brutal.

It's a mess. I didn't bother with washing individual parts off the car. Was too much into the task of mounting them. All the lights worked first time round. I'm ecstatic. Just have to button up the cooling system (running a Z3 S54 radiator), PS cooler hoses (apparently the 530 cooler is different than the 525, pipe length, go figure), and then do my aesthetics that have been on the back burner due to this. 750iL "BBK", M-tech sideskirts, "Dinan" muffler mod, Volvo lip....

Then drive to Connecticut Saturday morning for GFest. Boom.
