I didn't modify anything and they work fine with the adjusters. How did you have to modify yours?

The trick to scalloped headrests for sport seats is to use power headrests from an E23. They were all scalloped in those cars. The manual seats in E28s had very long posts, so they don't have the ball on the end that pops into the bracket. When seats went power on E28s, the scalloped headrests went away too.

Love a good W2A intercooler, such a better setup than a FMIC, and these days, there is a few options to greatly improve on the setups even further, check out interchillers http://fiinterchillers.com/ using the aircon system to cool the water even further, reaching inlet temps of 0c (32f)

That makes sense Chris, mine are from an E23. Made it very easy!

So, I've never heard of this Interchillers setup. Pretty nifty idea. I may have to try that as the temps in Texas can be an issue.

I'm hoping to have this car back together over the next few days.

The Terminator mustang guys have been using a similar set up for years as well http://killerchiller.com/t/universal They also have a stand alone version that has it's own 12v ac compressor although I'm unsure if it is available in a universal kit.

I wanted to put together a small update.

The car is back on the road after having replaced the M30B34 with a B35 from an e32 with the Koala Motorsport mount adapter (very nice piece btw).

Sherman was nice enough to work a deal with me on a motor he had handy:

Stripped, Cleaned, Painted and resealed: All new gaskets, guide, tensioner, OEM HG (instead of COMETIC MLS), and ARP head studs

Koala Motorsport mount to adapt Non-e24 B35 to B34 passenger side mount (requires early 533 mount, but I had already switched to this mount for TCD setup as required).

Hard to say LJ, but a great question. Once i can get some help tuning I might be able to make a better determination. It does feel stronger in the lower RPM. With throttle response I haven't noticed a difference.

I can. m30b34 with the smaller cam is quite a bit more responsive.

After having driven this car to TexFest this year I have started to learn more about driving and leveraging the engine and turbo together. The TCD setup is beautiful because the turbo's power curve is really well fitted with the m30's torque characteristics. It just works really well together. I am more and more impressed every time I drive it.

They need refinishing.

Bigger issue will be how to make the back width work. The rears are 17x10 et18, tried them with 245/40-17 and they rub under acceleration.

Keeping tuned for what solution you come up with. I considered having the back shaved & inserts installed in the lug holes for my setup.
