I'm a Dodge guy myself. I currently run an 08 Ram 2500HD quad cab with an eight foot bed, and the 6.7 Cummins. I have my gripes with some of the interior build quality, and factory paint quality for that matter. On the other hand my Cummins turbo diesel coupled with dana 80's front and rear make the truck very capable (mostly on road towing). If I could do it over I would get something with an extended cab. At 22.5 ft bumper to bumper it just barely fits anywhere around town and squeezes into my garage with a couple of inches to spare.

Oh ya, I forgot about that. The paint didn't last 10yrs on that awful Ram that I used to have. I just had to strip my fathers 2001 Ram 3500 to bare metal (the entire truck) and repaint it due to its catastrophic failure. IIRC Dodge had some pretty serious issues with all aspects of its paint process. I ended up repainting the truck in BMW Schwarz, which in my mind is a much more attractive shade of black. The truck only had 48k miles at the time of the repaint which means it will never have to be done again. on the plus side, the drive train is totally solid.RangerGress

I'm not trying to offend you and I respect the work that went into that project, but you don't really have a truck anymore. It's just a really heavy, long car with no trunk. Lol. I figured I would get that. And its still very functional. It has air suspension which is great for towing, It will ride at the same ride hight of a stock truck, But I can adjust how stiff the rear suspension is. I know its not for everyone. But its my baby. Im going to use it to tow my BMW to shows once I finally get it the way I want it.

Just as good as stock. Its not something thats just thrown together. The frame notch is much stronger than the factory frame. Fair enough. I could see it wasn't thrown together from the pictures, but I couldn't see the details. It makes me nervous when people weld on modern truck frames, though.
