So today i got to see the result of the Photoshoot some time ago!

The new issue of the danish car magazine "Boosted Magazine" hit the streets today. And im really happy with the article they got made

Wow, it's been a long time. Totally forgot about you guys, Sorry!

Well it's time for a wee update on what's going on with the car. Sadly not much, haven't been able to do anything on it for a LOONNGG time, because of a bad wrist (2 surgeries down, 1+ to go, Metal wrist in the making )

I got a bit tired of the look i gave the car 2 years ago, the red front detailes, all the stickers and the ripped mismached interior. So took the decision to make it a bit more "classy".
The e34 interior i wrote about at one point, got sold right in front of my nose. but a few weeks ago i found a deal i couldn't say no to An e34 mtech interior, black leather middle with grey Alcantara sides. so this will soon be made to fit



Now, what to do with the front? Firstly I found a spare set of grills and Kidneys, took them apart to paint and polish them. I also stipped the red paint of my "ram air intake" and polished that up also.



As you may know, i also have some e23's plus a shit load of parts. Looked at the chrome trim that you could get on their grills, thought why not try to get them to fit the e28 grills?



So this is how it ended out, quite happy with that



But now with that looking good, my headlights is looking like shit (dirty, rusty and full of old Tectyl )
So today i toke them apart, updates to come!

So, time for a "little" update of the weekends progress

I finally got the air supply Aka compressors for my media blasting booth sorted, so i now have a steady supply of around 9bar to play with
So i got right into it, this is the first time i have done some media blasting, so was quite exited to see how good it worked.
Started with the headlight mounting plate, totally free of rust and paint. Now painted a nice high gloss!









Same process for the head lights, rusty and coverd in old tectyl...









So far so good

I "accidently" bourght a set of crosshair inserts for the OE hella light, they should arrive monday-wednesday in the coming week



So had to "crack the open", that meant a trip in the oven (of course when the misses wasn't home )





More updates to come, when i recieve the inserts.

And as soon as the headlights are done, i'm gonna start on the interior

Ohh yeah, also got the chrome rings cleaned, even they where partly covered in old Tectyl. One of the PO really went to town with the stuff, to little effect. I still had a shit load of rust done when i bourght the car -.-'

To be honest, i don't know. The only time I've had it on a dyno was with the b32 bone stock other than complete b34 engine controle system. Here it made 209Hp and 300Nm



Update

Yesterday i got the Crosshair inserts and today i had some time to work with it a little bit. First of i had to work out how and where they where meant to be mounted, had NO info from the seller. So that took me a little time, to get all the measurements





Now it was just a matter of cutting the slots, here i used a Dremel with a fine cutting disc and an airgun to cool the metal, so the mirror coating inside wouldn't bubble up.
After I got them all test fitted, they got a spary of High Temp matt black.

So, this weekend i had time to finish the headlight work.

Fitted the painted inserts, bent the tabs a bit so they where fixed, then sealed the slots and painted them with a high temp silver







when the paint was dry, it was time to seal the headlight, by putting the glass on again, using a thin bead of sealent



Let them sit over night under a bit of pressure, to be sure the glass wouldn't move



Today i was just a matter of putting all the pieces back together

And Tadaaaa, the end result. Looks damn good IMO

So today i got started with the e34 interior swap

I got the easy part done today, getting the front seats to bolt in "Out with the old, in with the new"





I have a set of staggered BBS Nardi's laying around, intended for one of my e23, but lately i've been thinking about how they would fit/look on the e28.
Actually a bit surpriced with the fitment and the look. 8/9,5x17"
They would've course need a full refurb!

What do you guys think, the nardi's or the bugatti's ??

Dont get me wrong, i still "love" the Bugatti's, but i just thought that it might be time for a change in the wheel department, plus i would like a bit wider wheel in the back, the Bugatti is "only" 8".
I think i'm just gonna refurb the Nardi's and then see what looks best on the car

Interior

So, today i finished the "getting it to fit" part of the interior job, next step is to get it clean, give the leather and alcantara some attention (hasn't been super well cared for) and fixing a small tear in the drivers seat.







Last night, i was standing behind the car, just "staring at it" and decided that all the stickers made it look cluttered plus for some reason the car looked taller with them on. So they had to go (Outgrew the "boy racer" period)



Now the rear of the car looks completly different, and more "classy" IMO

Interior update:

The day after i got the seats cleaned, i started with the leather/alcantara care. Leather balm for the leather and used a "Lint remover" on the alcantara, what a difference! All this got the seats looking a LOT better. They are now all but the drivers seat installed in the car. I'm waiting on getting the seat back (getting the tear fixed)





Next step was looking at the now not matching and quite worn doorcards. Redressed them with leather. This being my very first attempt at some upholstery work, with that said I'm happy with the result





While waiting on the drivers seat, i might as well refit the headlight and get them adjusted.

Over the last few days i got the interior buttoned up, got the drivers seat back and installed plus the whole interior cleaned. This is how it looks, a whole other level than the old tatty cloth interior

Last week i bought a new steering wheel for the car, instead of the Momo Prototipo. A 4 spoke Hartge!
It was a local guy who had it for sale, for basically nothing and would grade the condition at about 8/10. So i couldn't say no



Today i took the time, to completely redo the wiring to the electric radiator fans (I'm running without the viscose fan), mainly because when i did it the first time i ran the relay directly of the battery, so they would run with the car turned of, plus I did a poor job.
I started from scratch and now it's run over the ignition, so when the car's turned off, the fans stop. plus it now looks a whole loot cleaner, wiring wise..

Yes, still rocking the Bugatties, i haven't had a chance/the time to start the work on the Nardis.

The thing is, that the last couple of years i have had a lot of problems with my left wrist (old injury), giving me a shit load of pain when working. So i've been though countless x-rays, MRI's, examinations and a couple of surgeries. The latest being, that i got an artificial wrist ( An APTIS) 5 weeks ago. So i won't be working on any of my projects the next long time, because i have to take care of the new wrist.
