Wow. They look fantastic, Mike! Well done. RS198s were definitely the way to go.

Oh my. That is red hot!
Great job!
(I'm digging the shadowline grills for when you get rid of them...)

I think bottle caps would be a much better match. If you'd like, I would be happy to swap with you. Shoot I'd even pay shipping both ways.
The wheels compliment the car well, nicely done.

I like the shadowline grills, and the RS' look absolutely gorgeous!

Looks great, Mike! Do you plan to add the black stripe for the front spoiler?

by gray635
Hey John! Actually, I have been thinking about that. The next job is to convert the car back to the euro lights and washer system and ditch the sealed beams that are on the car now.

The stripe on the lower front spoiler would not be correct for your M635CSi and I wouldn't add it (the stripe is also not original to car photographed earlier in the thread). The lower front stripe was always and only used in conjunction with cars with the Slimline stripe and never the Dekor stripe.
I cant wait to see the car with the correct headlight wipe/wash intensive cleaning system and European spec lights.
Best,
RCBMW

More good information from rcbmw!

Actually, I thought the car should have the front spoiler stripe. Now I know better.
If all goes according to plan, the headlight wiper/wash system, euro headlights and turn signals should be on the car next week. I'll update this thread with developments as they occur and really appreciate all the nice comments on the car.

That is just beautiful. I don't love bling in general, but those wheels look natuaral on that car. Like the grills too. Go Mike

Absolutely beautiful M635 Mike, congratulations! Love the color, condition, and of course your new wheels.
I have the same 198s with polished lips on my M635 and love them. I have mine wrapped in 255/40/17 all around.
Only thing I am considering doing in adding a small spacer at the rear to make those 198s look a bit more agressive.
Enjoy! Looking forward to hearing about the headlight washer system.

Mike, that car looks exquisite! I think that was a very smart move going with the normal grilles! Ties it all together so well. Well done and congratulations on such a stunning 6er!

Thanks, Chris! Glad you like her. I prefer the chrome-trimmed grills, too. Sorry about the crap job on your B7 window installation

That project was going so well, too. But you'll get it straightened out.

Great work Mike. I agree, it is so much better than when you purchased it
I'm sure those E code H1 headlights make a big difference! I know I just installed some on my E24, and can't believe how well the high beams light the road!

Well done! Still, that floozy can't take away the Alpina's top billing in the Perry, GA vintage BMW show.

The car looks amazing now It relay needed that little bling on the headlight grills. Didn't look right on a red car any other color and you probably wouldn't even notice.

Unfortunately, no. I had planned on going but I've got a long-standing commitment the first weekend in May that takes priority. I am planning to bring this thing to The Vintage, though. It'd be great to see you there.
Thanks for all the nice comments on the car, guys!

The car looks very good and I'm happy to see that you saved it. The BBS RS alloys would look more period correct if they had larger aspect ratio tires and the standard BBS finish but overall, job very well done, Kudos!
Best,

That's a shame. That would have been a great debut. Doubtful on the Vintage but I will look forward to the pics of your red ride.

Simply WOW!!
She looks beautiful Mike... great job of bringing her back to near original... but, probably even nicer than when it left the factory. Love the wheels! Congrats... and I hope to see and get a ride if I make Vintage!
