You're very welcome Dave, good luck with being able to see your Grandson, not to mention your dog.

Most of you are my friends on FB, some not. I was living in a Motel 6 in the ghetto, drinking too much, smoking too much (cigarettes), not eating. Weighed 155. Falling almost everday.

Finally my brain sort of shut down. I got on the bus, 2
miles walk each way. Checked myself into the hospital, on the 8th.Got on the patch. Stopped drinking. Alcohol and my disease are like putting gas on fire.

Now I'm in Sonoma Health Care and Rehab. Thanks to my social worker. It's a great place. Staff are great. PT and OT, Gym, cell phones allowed-Junior found mine in his car, still no phone-lap tops, park, gardens, patios. I now weigh 170, thanks too 3 square meals. Alot of rest. Dogs welcome. Brain is back to normal

My wife and I now get along. She brings my baby girl Queenie the dog every week. As well as other thing from the house. For the record she kicked me out when we were both drunk. We both said some terrible things. Because she still drinks I can't be with her. We are now good freinds. 18 years is a long time.

So anyhow I'm doing better than expected. My step son is going to bring my grandson soon.

Good news Dave, glad to hear it. Seemed like for the longest time everything that could go wrong was going wrong.

Thanks Keith and Mike. PT and OT twice a day. OT is way more physically demanding. Had no idea.

So I get released on the 16th. Right now my social worker and the administrator-top dog- we have become good friends, are looking at housing. Residential care home, board and care, etc. He says I can stay here in the convalescent side for my usual rent: 125 a month, until I find a place .

Physical therapy ans OT gave me a set of test. Passed 100%. Waiting to find my next home.

On another note, my dog Queenie (my baby) has a lump. Went to the vet yesterday drew blood waiting for the results today. I'm praying it's not cancer. My wife and are back fighting again. She told me 10 days ago she wasn't eating. I told her several times take her to the vet and I'll pay for it. She "claims" I never said that.

After all the s**t I've gone through I don't know if I can take anymore.

Dave, I don't know you personally, and know little about your life, but I can tell you something I am certain of. You need to stay as far away from your "wife" as possible. This woman is on a path of destruction and the only result will be you going down the same path as long as she is in your life. You really need to cut her off for good.

Disclaimer: The above commentary is simply disengaged observation and may not be 100% accurate, but I am pretty sure it is.

As a similar outside observer, I have the same recommendation.

^^^ Dave, I agree too. I was in a similar situation a little over 25 years ago. Letting go of that relationship was heart wrenching, as I loved her so much. Problem was, she didn't love me back enough to get the help she needed.

It will hurt immensely in the beginning. Eventually, your hurt will turn to anger, and then forgiveness. It takes time, and if you decide to go this route, hopefully you can have Queenie with you. A pet helps immensely when you need someone to talk to. I'll tell you what, I talked my German Shepherds ears off. ;)

By going this route, I was afforded the opportunity to meet the love of my life, someone who actually loves me back.

You all 3 are right. I have no intention of getting back with he AT ALL. She's not coming to visit anymore, I haven't seen my grandson in over 3 months. I can't be with her for several reasons. Foremost she gets drunk every night. I no longer drink, because of my disease, I can't be with some one that does. Maybe a light drinker..maybe not.

That being said she has no money so if my dog needs and operation, I have to pay for it. I may not see the dog anymore, but I still love her. Right now I have too bills and rent is 125 a month here. So I've been saving money.

Thanks again for your advice once again.

Really, find someone local. Regardless of your issue, I don't know the law in California on it. Contact the closest legal services office.

Dave, after you have this lawyer situation taken care of, make sure you get custody of Queenie, and a place you's two's can stay at. If Queenie needs anything, Carol and I got it covered. ;)

I asked some people in the know. In CA it community property. The Explorer is both are names, reg and contract. Everything in the house i bought, very little together. She was making 10 an hour, I was making 35-40. Its worth close to 7k, perfect condition according to KBB.

The leather couch and chair: 2500 new, Sealy Cal King, TV's, 4 computers, original art I bought, 2 bedrooms, worth of furniture, patio and kitchen. I can sell everything.

The day that Queenie died, I said I was going to file. She said that she already beat me the punch and hung up. I've texted her with that question for 3 days. she hasn't replied. I'll call the Napa court house tomorrow.

Regardless if I get served I show up at court and tell the judge and tell him I contest it. The we see a mediator and split it . Also in CA the person that makes more has to pay alimony. She makes 3k a month. I make 900.00. Worth a try.

I need to get out of here they are done with me just need to find a place. They moved me into the convalescent side, not good...wait bad. Found a room in Napa that's perfect. Good people, good location, close to bus line, in my budget, etc.The woman works with disabled and is OK with my disease and my in home health care worker. Got denied before. Going to look at it this afternoon. Wish me luck.

My dog died, spent my B-day and T-day here. Don't want to be here for Christmas.

New update: I finally filed for divorce, served yesterday..yess!!

In Napa it's 500 to file. Due to my situation, I was able to get it for free. She has no extra money, and couldn't afford it.

It's the first step. There's paper work, mediator, etc. Those of you who have been there know.

In this state, it's called community property:1/2 of everything we acquired while married.

Got the therapy together: speech, physical and occupational-life things

I'm a happy puppy now.

Wow, crazy you just posted Dave! I was thinking about you this passed weekend wondering "How's he doing these lately?"

Though we've never met, I remember reading this thread originally, seeing all the sales on the forums being donated, and I just thought "I sure hope he's doin' alright!"

Anyway, glad to see things are looking up for you. Hope it only gets better as the days go on.

Update on my life. Thanks to Social Worker, I got a membership at a brand new, state of the art gym.

I am working out 1 or 2 days a week. They have ALL emanates: pool, hot tub, every machine. I did 6000 steps on a thing called Nu-Step. I volunteer once a week at my old place in Sonoma. Seeing people that have no visitors. It feels good. Everybody loves me there. I have old friends and new, staff is awesome. The administrator said when I get to bad I have a bed.

I eat right, 175, sleep right. My balance is so good, I don't use a cane. I bought a electric scooter, worth 1800 new-almost new, for 300. I use it for long trips. That money came from the sale of the engagement ring 600. the wedding band, both my grandma's. Was appraised years ago at 5600. Platinum and bid diamonds. Carol lost it 5 years ago, too small. Gone.

I don't miss drinking at all..i am around them all day. No urge or AA. I am addicted to coffee, work out's and cigs. Even my Dr. said go for it, if i relaxing you..especially with a terminal disease.

When Carol kicked me out, bad stuff started happening: All the fish died, she had to move all that stuff, she was a hoarder. The locals that came to my many WF's saw. She had to find a place that took both pets, then Queenie died. Then she had surgery to remove 2 huge ovarien cysts. Is that karna..or just payback?

My stuff is another nightmare. I was in Sonoma when Carol decided to have a garage sale when I wasn't there. It was her, my sister and Jason. My old neighbor, that drinks in the morning and has PTSS, and does 420 everyday. The house was open, people were everywhere. My craftsmen set gone,my 300 watt Sony surround sound w/ JBL's gone. Everything automotive gone. I has red line, deoxit 2 big cans, lexor, you guys know hoe much that stuff cost.

My divorce free legal aid said list the contents, I asked Carol. She said no way, Then put a restraining order on me. It's been so long I can't remember what I have. For you non-Californian's. This state is community property, that means anything in the 18 years we were together 1/2 is mine: '03 Explore I paid off, furniture, everything. BTW I paid for it, being the money maker.

My guy says good, bad for her. I have friends and house mates to help. My new phone has a voice recorder, and my camera works. I'm going to take half of everything:sell, give and throw out. Like she did. My 1st hearing is July 2nd.

Thanks again guys for all your help.

New friend at car show.
