Hydro ==> Vacuum Boost Brakes UPDATE OCT 2015
Vacuum port is drilled into the blank location on the B34 intake manifold and I used the coolant port from the head of an S52 for the nipple. I pulled the vac line out of the booster with the engine running and I do have vacuum. I am using Gates hose specifically for vacuum so it should not be collapsing.
Thanks for all the help so far, guys.

Re: Hydro ==> Vacuum Boost Brakes *1yr, ZERO ISSUES*
Doing this on my 525i. Mostly just got everything disconnected today. A dirty, thankless job.
The 525i is one of the early e28 based ummm e28s? Big six, but it has a different power steering pump.
I'm using an M5 steering box, so those connections are the same as always.
So, when I saw this back in '12: (Typical e28 setup)

I said this:

That is the rear end of the power steering pump. The red is the high pressure port, and the hole staring you in the face is a "goose neck" feed barb end.
So, I'm attempting to just use the original high pressure hose to link the box and the pump.
No banjo bolts/connections.
Sooooo, if you're doing this with the early power steering pump:
The high pressure hose will go from the BOTTOM of the steering box to the REAR of the pump.
The down arrow on the reservoir goes to the TOP of the pump, and the up arrow comes from the TOP of the steering box.
I still have some work to do, so I'll add to the original post (maybe even finally turn this into an FAQ) after I know it works.

However, I was greeted with this:There are up and down arrows for each of the lines coming from the reservoir. Down goes to the SIDE of the pump. Up comes from the TOP of the steering box. The high pressure line goes from the TOP of the pump to the BOTTOM of the steering box. Make sure you have your washers and your 19/22mm bolts, and snug them up really well. You'll be able to tell instantly if you didn't.

Re: Hydro ==> Vacuum Boost Brakes UPDATE OCT 2015
I'm in the process of doing this on a 1985 528i m30 e28 with Right hand drive
Few small snags but nearly done now just have to extend the booster rod to make up for the booster mount adapter and have 1 power steering hose made
Glad to be rid of that leaking POS

Re: Hydro ==> Vacuum Boost Brakes UPDATE OCT 2015
Hello e28 community,
Before I state my issues I will first start by saying my brakes worked fine and I didn’t have any issues other than the leaking hydraulic system.
So in the past couple weeks I have replaced, front and rear brakes with the e34/e23stage 5 big brake swap. Swapped the hydraulic booster and all lines for the vacuum booster swap. All new stainless steel brake lines. I am having an issue where I can only get brake fluid to come out of the passenger front side and driver rear side. Meaning that the brake line coming off the master cylinder nearest the headlamp is all running properly getting fluid through the prop valve to the calipers. However, I am not getting any air or fluid to come out of the passenger rear or the driver side front. Thus meaning that the line coming off the master cylinder closest to the firewall is not getting air through the prop valve to the driver front or pass rear. Am I safe to assume that it could be the prop valve or what should I look into?
Thanks in advance.
