Are the rooms all in one area of the hotel or are they all over the place? I just booked online and did not get in a block or anything.

Is the rate lower as well?

Looks like a good showing of Z cars as well. I'm torn between between bringing my Z and my 528e. I'm sure to have the e to i swap done by then, but it won't be all that impressive till I slap a turbo on it.

Decisions, decisions.

Do not open the hood Cactus. Remember it's all about having fun with old and new friends.

Will probably drive the E34 wagon, but I guess that means I can't show it.

Anyone giving up their reservation at the host hotel? They appear booked up for Saturday night.

There is no reason why you can't show it...unless you don't want to expose it...LOL!!!

It doesn't list the E34 as a BMW to bring.

That made me laugh out loud Paul, too many pops last night? You do realize Ted drives an E34? It's all about the people and the variety.

All BMWs come from Isetta to Z1, from Batmobile to M1. Last year there was even a 70s Lamborghini.

My e28 is driveable now....time to log some miles before making the trip to TEDFEST.

I had to roll my fenders today and thought if anyone wanted/needed their fenders rolled I would bring the roller along with me. If anyone is interested let me know.

Is that the tool that attaches to the hub from Eastwood?

If so, I would like to give mine a pass or two for future wheel and tire mods.

Yup it sure is. If I can fit it I'll bring it along.

You did say fastest, not quickest (:D) and I don't doubt Roy's NSX is significantly faster based on my modified Supra. I wouldn't want to be in a Tiger at 170+ mph.

The NSX was a 13.3 car N/A at sub 300 HP. Roy may be quicker too, but if not a small change in rear end gearing will likely get him there. There are lots of sub 12 second NSX and Supra street cars. Not a fair fight though with launch control part of modern engine management. Cruising in 6th gear he likely makes double or triple the fuel mileage the Tiger manages too (Supra gets 27 mpg at 75 mph).

Enjoy the Tiger for the cool 60s car that it is, to make it match some of the boosted Japanese cars I doubt it would be "streetable".

It would never ever compare in anything of a NSX other than a straight road of about 1/4 mile. I am out of gear around 125 MPH. Its turns OK but nothing like modern cars.......brakes, the same.

But it is a hell of a handful when using the right pedal with authority and thus a TON of fun. Still tuning the carb hoping for 17-19 MPG at cruise.

A friend of mine had a Tiger race car (made ~500 hp too, but broke a lot), and he couldn't turn with his buddy's E type lightweight of the same vintage on the track much less anything modern, but he sure hammered everything on the straights.

As for brakes I can't imagine your stopping distance from speed. I can't speak for the NSX, but the Supra was the shortest stopping production car 70-0 until the Carrera GT came along and beat it by 4 feet. You have to be able to scrub off the speed if you want to drive fast. :D

BTW, the Tiger race car was sold as a rolling chassis as my friend didn't want to be responsible for someone new to vintage racing killing themselves. I think he still has the engine if you would like me to check.

I've never had my NSX to a drag strip for a 1/4 mile time, but the stock '93 does mid 13's per numerous sources. With my CTSC and numerous other performance mods my bhp is up 120+ at 358.6 bhp at the wheels @ 2950 lbs. car weight. So, I'd guess it would be in the low 12's for sure, maybe not 12.2 or lower :D ... ... but, it would be a close race for the 1/4 no doubt. Probably a function of tires and launch would decide the winner :)

Unless I bring this one :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQwVGScFJj8

Now, on a road course or for top speed... no contest!

Anyway, since this is a BMW event, I'll bring one of those.... and ask for a ride in your beast Duke

It is not too great....putting 15" wheels on it and Willwood four piston calipers with vented disks on the front this winter. I have RX7 rear disks on it now.

My 347 is plenty for the foreseeable future.

Going by my engine dyno numbers (415 HP)...I should have 360 RWHP but the car weighs 2500 lbs :D I will have a fresh chassis dyno sheet on it for TedFest.

You would not believe the bullshit military paperwork I must submit to take leave into Canada.

- two different leave forms
- vehicle inspection form
- risk assessment form (because I am driving)...NO I am not driving 900 miles in one day.
- proof of current Terrorist Awareness training

And the guy who approves all this......same rank as I am. Stupid.

Current terrorist awareness training? Holy fucking Batman's buttercups, we're such a goddamn paranoid country. I get the leave forms, but risk assessment for a road trip to Mississauga? And that vehicle inspection, is that to make sure you're not accidentally stowing any terrorists in the boot, or is that so the oligarchy can know how much grease is in your CV joints?

Its a pure mechanical inspection to include proof of insurance. My "inspector" never left the building........they know about my Tiger and how it is maintained.

Not sure whether it would be advisable to drive the e28 up there in about a month but, should I be looking at a different hotel as I am pretty late, or might there be space left?
