Spent a bit of time adjusting my fog lights. One of them was aimed way too low. Got 'em nicely dialed in.

Got my M535i out of the garage for the first time this year, and the leaves on the trees are finally popping out. Two sure signs spring is here.

installed some extra spring pads in the rear of my m5 a few weeks ago, to attempt to correct the reverse rake. can't wait to change out the Spax springs for something else.
it's currently my only daily drivable car while the e39 is off to the body shop. been a long time since i've regularly driven it so i'm glad to bond with it again.

I cleaned my 524td up a bit today. Installed new oem floor mats and new roundels on the hood and trunk. (The old hood roundel is better quality btw).
Here is what an original full size spare looks like. 1984 date code. Made in west Germany.

No clear coat from the factory? That's a huge win. What color is it, it looks like Burgundrot, which on the ones I've seen does have clearcoat.
Looks good whatever.

Yes it is Burgundrot, which has factory clear coat. But the clear was chipping in areas. The roof and trunk were especially bad with paint fading and no clear. So I wet sanded and applied a coat of clear and then wet sanded and applied another coat of clear. In a few days I’m going to wet sand again and ceramic coat. Most people would have gotten a paint job. My goal was to try to preserve and keep original paint. So I decided to redo the clear coat and keep my fingers crossed that I bring it back to life. Still need to touch up some areas with touch up paint before doing a ceramic coat. But so far I’m pleased with the results. The car is presentable now, less than 400 in products and several hours of my time saved me 5k on a paint job and more importantly, the car retains its original paint.

Actually I did something like this 10 years ago and it came out pretty well. It looked good when I was done. Not as good as yours looks, which is great, but good. And I thought I was the only one crazy enough to try to reclear something!

Reglued all my detached door seals and door felts. Not a "hard" job at all and correcting something that bothers me every time I drive the car.
Also installed a new fan clutch and re-installed my fan shroud.
Slowly chipping away at all the little things.
