It was part of my car when I bought it. You can find it on Realoem ,p/n 31112225218. You can buy it from ECS tuning.

Installed the driveline today. It's one of those things that until you figure out the steps to get it into place, it seems to not want to fit. Next time it will be about a 10 minute job, today it took me better part of 30 minutes.

I was able to replace the rubber "back door to B pillar" connection for door lock and window electronics. I'm too embarrassed to show the details on this side as I completed went full retard before I solved the mystery on what to do.
And thank you to those that replied about an under rear seat sub woofer. My last e30 had a forward facing 10" sub that fired through the back seat from the trunk and it sounded great, so I picked up this 8" compact sub and will see how it goes. Part of the issue right now is time and effort, I want to get Maeve on the road. The e30 has a cutout panel behind the rear arm rest making it easy to provide a path for the sub to fire through, the e28 does not. I'll bet the under the rear seat sub sounds ok.

Big thanks to harrypalmer for sending pics on the heater box flap actuator orientation. This was the last obstacle to getting the heater/AC boxes reinstalled.

The US cars did not have that hole in the back firewall, but some € cars could have been so equipped:
RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog
I use a known M535i VIN when I need to look up € parts. Expect it was available for all the models

Putting the sub in the trunk can lead to a lot less trunk space if you go with a pair of 10s and amps.

Oops, off topic but, Hot Damn, it works. I can finally post pictures. Haven't since photofuckit tried to extort us for hosting. They gotta be the worst, watermarking through the middle half of the pictures.

It is slightly different right now, using a Sony XEC-1000 crossover meaning the amps are rotated to make room and since it isn’t 100%, Come on, I’ve had that rig since 1988 in the ride. I’m gonna pull the board, add another amp for the woofers and maybe refresh those PQ-10s. Need to talk to my a/d/s/ guy about the need. That will double the power to the corners (aDs 300i and 320i) and give the woofer some more, too. But it’s an Alpine amp for the woofers going in. Loud but sounds good. Not looking to rattle any sheet metal.
But trying to pm a pic and no luck in a quick try so I have to actually read tig’s post on how to with pictures. I’ll get there, but a damn fine upgrade already, being a fresh forum with pictures.

A bit more progress. Replaced the "S" shaped raceway for wires that travel to the inside of the door. the ones that came with my car from Mesa AZ were dried out and in pieces. I bought two different terminal removal tools, both broke, so I had to cut the wires and then solder them back together.

Often I've found you can right click, open in a new tab and the watermark is gone.

Kind of a moot point but it can come in handy on other sites too.

Out with the old, in with the new. This may have been something unnecessary, but something I've done on every older car I've owned, new brakes. The M/C is OEM 535i spec as others have opined a larger M/C is not needed or wanted (thanks Shawn D.)

I'm starting to address the trim. One piece is the hat shelf behind the rear seats. As you might expect, it has completely faded from the hot/sunny AZ climate. This is what it looked like about an hour ago:
This is what it looks like now:
The color is a shade darker that my reupholstered leather rear seat, but close enough I think. The speakers are faded as well but I'm not sure they need to be the same shade as the hat shelf. Even if it's not quite the same as from when it was brand new, it looks better.

And this came in the mail today from eBay. It's been a good day. Plus its 63 degrees in the Pacific Northwest on Feb 27th!

Making progress on small things, like vacuum lines, speakers etc. No pics but making sure small things hat can cause larger problems are caught now vs later.

When I started the renovation of Maeve, my intent was to get her back on the road with a refreshed suspension, new interior and a much better motor. Smaller things I could take care of as I used the car as a DD. So here I am 2 years later (sigh.....) and little things keep popping up that I can't ignore. And to fix little things, most often I need OEM parts of some sort that take 7 to 10 days to arrive.
The lated is when putting the doors back together after cleaning a lubing the window mechanisms, I find the door latches are cracked, presumably from the AZ heat where Maeve has been for the last 30+ years. And then the little plastic bushings that the various door lock rods go thru. I do not want to remove the door panels and locks to fix them later, and a huge pet peeve is a car that rattles from little things. So there's 2 more 10 day delays, and it all adds up. Here is the lates culprit:
The good news is I'm very much in the end game to getting Maeve on the road, hopefully haha.

Im running those tweeters too. Cant beat the price for the sound. Look into Dayton mid-base speakers too. If I had to do it all over again, Id put their 4" mid base in the front kick and call it a day.
