especially the ones that have a easily accessible same day available waterpump for $60, that takes a hour to change and lasts 20 years. I can't understand the allure, either.

Let me know where you find one of those. All anyone seems to have same day is a Graf and I got 400 miles out of my last two.

I've gone through 3 waterpumps in less than 10k miles. I'm really tired of replacing new parts. The one that is currently failing is from the dealer.

I have had pretty bad luck with parts on this car, just replaced a bilstein sport last week that was blown after 7k miles.

3 idler arms.

2 guibos.

Cars drive a lot better when their tires have air in them. I've been driving on between 5-20 psi.

Low profile tires are funny, they didn't even look low. Car drives straight and steers easy but it's a lot stiffer. Daily driving an e28 on 18s is retarded. Daily driving an e28 is retarded. I'm retarded.

#4 idler arm has failed on my car in the 29ish months of ownership. Average life of each one was 2-3k miles. So far they have all been lemforder. After the third one failed I fabbed a heavy duty aluminium heat shield with the thinking it must be the close proximity of the headers that were prematurely destroying the bushings. It's rather infuriating to keep replacing parts. I ordered one from the dealer so I will find out in the near future if it's poor quality parts, heat issue or something else.

I like this car less with each planetary revolution.

There is a separate heatshield that goes around the compressor to block the headers. I think they used them on the e24 m6.

You do know about the factory heat shield that goes on top of the idler arm it self, no? It bolts to the arm.

I'm sure with the shield and if you quit revving 4k rpm for a hour at a time you'll have better luck.
