I literally just thought about this. Like 30 mins ago. I learned a lot here too.
Glad it worked out well!

Re: E12 was hit while parked in my driveway. 10/29 Check!
I just read this whole thing. At first i was confused because I thought this was a new thread (didn't notice thread length or date). I thought you were talking about Golf. Needless, to say, I was confused.
Glad it worked out in the end and you were only partially scarred by the experience.

About page 10 or 12, you might have thought it was an older thread, wouldn't you? maybe not, just looking for some car fun to have and reading this thread would do that.

It's been five years, have the rose bushes come back?

I thought the same think Charlie thought and began reading thinking about the Golf car. Looking back, I can't believe I just sat and read that entire thread! I am glad it worked out and am now looking for the thread on the M535i to find out it's current process. I have missed A LOT in the years I have been absent here.

Ha. That happened to me. I went back to this thread to find a photo of something in the first post and then ended up reading the whole thing, hence the bump. I only bumped it because I thought it was funny how quite a few of the commenters don't spend time here and I also appreciated all of the help I was given through the process. It was a huge learning experience.
Here's the thread that has tracked the car's progress. I did a whole lot of nothing with it for quite a while, but recently, I guess I was anticipating your return.

And Mr. Grau, the rose bushes all died except for the one nearest the house. It's a shame and I never ended up dealing with them on the rose bushes since I didn't want to deal with arguing they were operable at the time of the accident.

Sorry to bump this but...
Chris,
I just ran into this thread. I had a similar situation with my e12 528i back in 2001. I was "restoring" it and someone slammed into me on my way back from Bloomington IN to Chicago. The guy had State Farm. They appraised my car at $1,200 (probably accurate), I said my car was worth $6,000. I sent them all the outlandish E12 ads I could find to show them the asking price of my "classic" was way higher. They cut me a check for $3,500, which was $1k more than I had paid for the car 3 years earlier. I negotiated down the price of an M535i in Florida (asking $5k) and flew down and bought my M535i with the money.
