Same here. I didn't post one with a caption because I thought everybody had seen it a million times. I knew nothing of the history of the actual pic until Wayne's Wiki link.Mike W. wrote:I'd seen it for a long time, probably 15 years or so, usually with the caption, but never knew it's origin.
My college room mate and I did something similar with a 5th of Evan Williams and a 2 liter bottle of Coke the night before our sophomore classes started.a wrote:Depends upon the circumstances. Hmmm, seems like a common event. I remember a roommate and I going thru nearly a full quart of I.W. Harper 100 proof one night. I made it into work but didn't sober up until noon or so. That was a loooooong time ago.vinceg101 wrote:My college room mate and I did something similar with a 5th of Evan Williams and a 2 liter bottle of Coke the night before our sophomore classes started.a wrote:Depends upon the circumstances. Yeah, the next morning was kind of rough.
It's a real car model.a wrote:Nice Fair Lady, Cek. With nothing in the pic for a scale, I thought it was a model. Is it a real car?
Heh heh Yah I know the Fair Lady is a model of Datsun (Nissan) . Is the artifact in the picture a scale model or a real car? I feel like Lou Costello doing the who's on first sketchcek wrote:It's a real car model.a wrote:Nice Fair Lady, Cek. With nothing in the pic for a scale, I thought it was a model. Is it a real car?

Never heard that. Is that a Midwest thing?davintosh wrote:Am I the only one bothered by bozos who refer to Japanese-built cars sold in the US as USDM?
No, it's a Facebook thing. Trouble is, most people who use the term insist it's correct, and those who know it's not say it doesn't matter because everyone knows what they're talking about.cek wrote:Never heard that. I'm unfamiliar with it too. I've several thoughts. Too much time on FB, might be accurate if it referred to Japanese manufacturer cars built in the US and you obsess too much over the small shit. (not sayin' I don't, just that it's easier to see from a distance)davintosh wrote:No, it's a Facebook thing. Yeah, not that big a deal to obsess over, and I really don't, but get the overwhelming urge to correct people every now & then, and regret it every time.
Ah, nice to have first world problems.a wrote:I am researching a rum based cocktail: equal parts Mug rootbeer and lime seltzer with a shot of Gosling's Black Seal Rum. Some adjustment of ingredients is required. More research is necessary. I already bought another handle of Gosling's. Forgot to get more R Beer, but this isn't really needed as time goes by
Do you require a research assistant?a wrote:I am researching a rum based cocktail: equal parts Mug rootbeer and lime seltzer with a shot of Gosling's Black Seal Rum.
