My oldest girl has just turned 15, and at her age we celebrate something that we call "confirmation" here in Norway. She is wearing her new "dress", the Norwegian "Bunad"....

Your car is just beautiful! I wish I had your skills. I can build, or fabricate but I really don't think I could completely strip my car and put it back together and have it function properly. Amazing work here!

A familywagon needs a tow-hook

refresh it all

No water allowed into the car

New bolts and 2 layers of Tectyl

Inner supporting bracket....

Right brack not too easy to install. Batterybox is in the way

I have bought new exhaust in Stainless Steel from Fritz's Bits UK. Hopefully it will work fine.

Better than the old 535i exhaust?

Just test-fitted...

It is not installed yet. Will do it this week.

Got M5 stabilizer front/rear in house, finally! 25mm/19mm.

Hopefully this will do the car justice...

One quick question: you said the alpina wheels are 17x8.5 front and 17x10 rear - can you please tell me what offset they are? Did you have any rubbing issues? I am looking to put similar wheels on my e28 and would like to know the best fitment.

I have ET12 in front, and ET28 rear.

225/45 front and 245/40 rear

Due to the high ET rear, I had to grind some mm'ers of the rear trailing arm. Just a little bit.

I have also folded the edge up on the rear fenders. Slightly...

Fully loaded, my left rear tire rubbs if I hit a nasty bump, so I will try to push the edge just a small touch more... It is just a very small spot on the edge that rubbs, so I guess it will go easy...

Thanks a lot this will help me select my wheels. I am thinking of going for 17x10 ET 24-26 so hopefully I will hit the sweet spot and only have to roll and massage the inner guards a little.

The original donor vehicle was a total wreck, totally crashed, rusted and some bogus with chassisnumber towards the Norwegian customs.

So I bought a Norwegian bodyshell, stripped it, and totally rebuilded it. All parts have been renovated to Alpina standards and specs. Exept for choice of color and such matters...

The Norwegian bodyshell when I bought it:

This was back in 2008..

2 years later I finally got myself going on with this project.

The car is 99% done now, and I am very satisfied with my car. The car feels good to drive, engine runs smooth and the car is registered and fully approved as a renovated Alpina with full Alpina spec and 320hp.

I got new tires fitted now, and the car feels like brand new compared with the other (also brand new) ones previously mounted. I have also installed some H&R lowering springs (25-35mm) a couple of days ago.

As of yesterday, the car looks like this:

I am not gonna sell it yet, I have got a quite serious offer of $52000, but I had to turn it down and say that I will not sell it. Atleast not before I have had quite some fun and pleasure with it....

Have not posted here in a while...

The car has been used now, and works like a dream. Rides like a dream, and I am in love.

This weekend, I attended Norways biggest BMW-event on Rudskogen Racetrack...

Just wanted to share some photos with you guys...

Alpina and Campina, ready!!

Just a couple of hours before takeoff...

First stop, to pick up some friends...

Some of us, driving together the 500 kilometer ride...

Everyone gives a hand when needed...

Tech control @ racetrack

500kms of dirt needs to be cleaned off...

Benchtesting:

Did 2 pull. First pull with 0.8 bar og second pull with 0.3 bar.

Here is video of first pull, 0.8 bar:

Next pull, 0.3 bar:

Quite confused about the numbers.

0.8 bar gave 334,4 hp and 456 Nm. 295 whp.

0.3 bar gave 299 hp (uncertain of how much Nm).

Alpina spec (picked up from internet):

0.3 bar 250 hp
0.8 bar 320 hp (with Kat) and 510 Nm.

I do not understand the numbers of the 0.3 bar. I guess the test-guy did not turn the pressure enough down...

Out of the bench, and ready for some show-off

I also got some extra baggage. 3 out of 10 cups in total ain't bad, I am a lucky guy!!
