FS: 1984 euro 520i 5spd - Seattle
Me Me Me
Hi guys! I'm the new lucky owner of this beauty. I must say it runs beautifully. I flew in to Seattle from Los Angeles to pick up the car yesterday morning. I met up with Mr. Reeves and shortly had some breakfast as I was starving upon arrival. Great car, great guy, great city. I've had a blast driving this thing in the city. No issues at all. Clean car overall. I'm driving it down from Seattle to Las Vegas, NV and I'm very confident I will not have any issues on the trip there. I sold my previous e28 which was a 87 535is because I knew I would pick this up. I look forward to posting a lot more on here. Thanks Dave for the great deal.

Thanks guys. Registration was a breeze. No it did not require a BAR sticker.tsmall07 wrote:Does it not matter that it's more than 25 years old?Rich Euro M5 wrote:+1SD45T-2 wrote:Nice Buy good luck with Registration.
I suspect we'll see a thread about the lack of a BAR sticker, and questions about how to get one in about a week.
Yes, do to the fact that Dave imported the car under the NHTSA's exemption for cars 25 years old, the car never needed to be federalized. This meant nothing changed from OEM spec. Dave pretty much did the hardest part importing it to the us. All I had to do was walk in to the DMV with the title, registration from Washington, and smog certificate from my state and I had my states registration paperwork and plates in a matter of minutes. This law applies on a federal level across all states. I'm loving this car already and appreciate the trip I took to go get her. She made it across 5 states with no issues whatsoever.
Thanks Dave once again.

Interesting, this might prove to be something your comrades in the collective may be able to use in the future. This means anything older than a '87 is exempt and could be brought into Kalifornia without a BAR sticker. I'm wondering if there would be a hangup to do it directly vs bringing it in through another state first.richys7 wrote:Thanks guys. Registration was a breeze. I'm almost positive I own this car now. Just happened to stumble upon this thread while researching what diff came in the 520i. Here it is at bimmerfest this past weekend.

Nice (just logging in for the first time in a long while).
Glad to see it got some love. From what I can tell it got a motor swap somewhere along the way as well.
