Where am I going to go now for dealer parts and great price?
Might want to ask at 2002faq. Problems are many and varied.Kpeters wrote:Oh well sure let me know what kind of bad experiences you guys have had please so I can address them.mooseheadm5 wrote:Nice of you to chime in. I will say that there have been some people with unhappy experiences with your company, but we are all open minded if efforts are being made to change this.

I attended the the M535i East Fest that Maximillian hosted way back in 2000. It was a good time, and the staff treated us very well. There are still some photos of the event over on www.M535i.org in the gallery section.Kpeters wrote:Hey guys I work for Maximillian and we carry parts for all BMW's original and aftermarket. We can get all the stuff the dealer gets and more I'd be glad to help out.
Great to hear you had a good experience that's the idea! I'm an active member on the 2002 faq too and on E21 forums. I don't own an E28 anymore though I gotta admit I was tempted to buy an Alpina B9 81" but my wife would have killed me got 3 old bmw's here already and 2 of them pending some serious resto!stuartinmn wrote:I attended the the M535i East Fest that Maximillian hosted way back in 2000. On a few recommendations here, I just put together an order from blunttechclassic.com. Steve was great to work with, and his prices were better than I'd seen elsewhere. Very friendly correspondence. I mentioned that mye28.com sent me to him but I don't know if that impacted the prices he offered me.
Assuming the package arrives without a hitch I'll definitely order from him again. Thanks for the advice, all.

This place has the lowst prices I have found.ahab wrote:Tischer out of MD used to have good pricing too, although it's been a few years and they're now called BMW of Silver Spring....

One example:
E60 shift lever (OEM short throw for my E39)
Local Dealer: $91
MSRP: $82 (IIRC)
BavAuto/Pelican: $74-$78
Tischer: $60

Here's the E30 build thread.

Wonder if something like this is in store for the E12?

I think some of the E34 guys use this source:

I've used them a number of times, always with good results.Pinzon89 wrote:Let me just say that I get employee pricing at the dealer an just ordered quite a few things($200 worth) from autohouseaz and it was half of my price quote from the dealer. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and I get the parts in a decent time. Can't beat it.
This E34 guy has used BMA (Patrick) for many years, 12 to be exact.BMWCCA2 wrote:I think some of the E34 guys use this source:

You'd have gotten the same or better price from Steve@BluntTech and based on your location have much speedier delivery.Pinzon89 wrote:...autohouseaz... Hopefully everything goes smoothly and I get the parts in a decent time. Can't beat it.

I have been really impressed with PelicanParts.com
They give you a choice of original BMW parts, OEM parts, or aftermarket supplier parts. They let you choose.
Unlike BavAuto.com, where you risk getting an Italian-produced part with a 20 percent failure rate. And that's no lie, I was told that by one of their phone sales reps - a 20 percent failure and return rate! So I avoid ordering generic parts from them. If they specify a manufacturer, that's fine. Otherwise, avoid.
I've had good experiences with Maximillian also.

For parts from the local dealer (mine is TheyShallRemainNameless BMW) it just depends on which parts counter guy you draw. I've had two in 25 years actually walk out to my car to verify a part. Otherwise, it appears that most of their butts are glued to the stools in front of the computers.
