That's the difference.
The innermost red spot in the lower section.
Hmmmm I guess I have the euro ones then, I wonder if thats how they were shipped in Canada?
Turn on your foglights. Do they light up?;)
I need to get bulbs in there first!
So you just have open holes there? Normally, it's a black plastic Mercedes symbol looking thing that you have to break out to install a bulb holder.

My 533 is plugged, my m535i is not, of course. I've never seen one with just open holes.:dunno:

Rear fogs - do they work in Canada?

Hey Alfonso, as a quick test, pull the bulb holders with bulbs out of your reverse lights, stick them in the holes, and switch on your fog lights. Then go back and look at your lights- there will be a section at the bottom inside corner (easy to tell) that lights up IF you have working rear fog lights. If not, darkness.

Also, another way to tell is look at the wiring going to the lights, and see if it has five or six wires to the plug. Six = Euro, Five = US.

Please let me know which you have, and if you want to get this terrific upgrade for more tail and brake light in there.

Pics- random experiment

OK, you want Pics? Try these on for size ...

I was messing with my relay invention for Euro rear fog lights - that brings one bulb to life for two different uses-- a rear fog that was ALSO a secondary rear brake light.

Since with US lights I do not have working rear fogs, I decided to test it with the reverse light, another independent circuit that could be made to serve two masters, so to speak.

All of a sudden, the gears started whirring, and I though- "HEY, that guy over on the 3er board was asking about red tinted bulbs for his ebay lights" and i thought why not try a red bulb in the reverse light socket to see what color it came across as... Yeah, I know, comparing apples and wheel bearings. Still, I needed to know!

Tell me what you think you see here in picture 1:

In the above pic, the lower light is the rear fog section , just below the reverse light. It's red in this picture because of the bulb used, see the second picture.

That is a stock bulb, dipped in special goo. The bulb is behind the Reverse Light clear lens. The bottom lens is the rear fog, and has a clear bulb behind the red lens.

Your thoughts?

Oh, and by the way, the reverse light works on it's own when I engage reverse, and also lights with the brake lights when I brake. Amazing, as I said. Same principal as the Euro rear fog/second brake dual functioning bulb, just a different circuit.

Have at it!
