Has anyone gotten a response from this guy? I've emailed him twice and have not heard from him.

Anyone know if it sold yet?

answer to question

Yes I have heard back from him twice on questions I asked. He was very nice in his response. I do not know if the car is still available.

I was interested but the distance and the weather put me off. I live in Tampa, Florida

Good luck

Well, I was looking for a 535is but this may be too clean to pass up right now.

Best of luck with your sale!

I too received prompt responses.

The second pic shows clear coat peel on the trunk lid.
At first I thought it was a reflection.
He sent me a link to his pics and they showed the same on the roof.

I passed as I have a 535i at my house I plan to resurrect to replace my eta with instead of making another purchase at this time.
If it'd been closer I'd possibly made a different decision.

GLWS and good luck to you guys in the hunt.

D'oh! I missed that. I feel kinda stupid. Now that you mention, there are no direct photos of the trunk and roof in the advertisement. So much for full disclosure. :(

Disclaimer: photos, or lack thereof, can hide many faults in a car. For example, we don't know the date these photos were taken. While I still believe this is one of the nicer high-mileage E28s out there, there is no substitute for looking at the car directly, or having an agent/friend do so, as well as reviewing the service records personally. I would never suggest anyone purchase a vehicle without either. I also bring my electronic thickness gauge whenever possible, just to be safe. Even though I have a good eye, the ETG will even show me port-of-entry bodywork, which is pretty near impossible to detect with the naked eye.

OK, I feel a little better now. Hope this helps,
.steve.

I didn't feel bad about finding there was clear coat peel.
A more observant eye would have picked it up in the posted pic,
I just don't have that observant of an eye.
And for probably $500 to $600 these two panels could be professionally resprayed and you'd still not be into to the car too deep.
I don't see this as a car that falls into the "2 to 3 K to bring up to snuff" category,
though I've not personally seen or driven the car.

Based on his above info, and the correspondence he sent me,
if I didn't already have a replacement vehicle for my eta, I'd have been all over this already.

I can't believe it's not sold yet.

Has anybody physically laid eyes on it and test driven it yet?

I think everyone was giving you room to speak on the car first before descending upon it.

If I was in the market for another e28 I'd jump on it. I just love clean e28s! Clear coat or no!

SOLD! :D

It's going to a nice buyer who's knows about bimmers.

I miss her already, but happy it's got a good home.

Thank you all for your comments...it's been a great read and discussion about 528e's
