may as well post my e30
I've watched this project evolve as he worked on it, and its an amazing build. I wish i could say I've helped, but its WAAAY beyond me, I mostly watched. Also got in the way on Thanksgiving when Kyle and I went to Win's shop and dropped the tank on the old 4x4 suburban to replace a piece of fuel hose.
Its gonna be FAST.

the LC1 decided to start working this morning and remained working so i turned on the tuner studio auto tune for the trip home, its getting even more amusing the better its tuned
just got done severely fucking with the tune off line, we'll see how bad i killed it tomorrow, i can always roll back to the MSQ i saved after the trip home this evening if it really sucks

i have pretty much everything functioning and after i finally got it burped the charge cooler works awesome, its funny how little extra coolant it needed to stop cavitation in the pump (bosch cobra) maybe 2 shot glasses worth, fucker sat there idling for 10 minutes with the electric fan running and intake air temps never made it below 156* after a couple runs down the street when i drained the water i tested with and replaced with AF and water wetter mix, once i got all air out i could i took a run and it stayed in the 80s so i flogged the shit out of it (shifting at 5k as my top end tune aint done and it has a nasty flat spot at 5500) up to 120 1st through 5th and temps never got over 96*f in upper 60s ambient, running temps on the interstate ran 7* above ambient at 65mph which is better then the warm air intake i was sporting before the blower which ran 11* above ambient (it was 16* above before i added a mobile one oil jug as a heat shield) not bad for having the air filter hanging off the back of the blower with no heat protection
the pics should be back up in a few days when my bandwidth resets

i can only report IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII like it its in the mid 40s out and it has been really frisky all day with no sign of the 5500 rpm flat spot, so i assed up on it this evening from a stop light short shifted 1st as its useless past 1/2 throttle then squirmed and fishtaled all the way through 2nd and finally hooked up in 3rd
weather has been less then inspiring so i haven't driven it in a week or so, the LC1 seems to be cooperating at the moment so i ran a log for around 10 miles from the gas station to home, not sure if its interesting enough to look at or not so here it is if it is http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/11/26 ... .30.45.msl punched it in 5th from 65-120+ towards the end about 1-2 miles from the house, barely banged the limiter in 2nd to see what it would show less then .5 mile from the house
seems to have logged 7# of boost which is cool for this unit, that means the upgraded impeller may be good for 9# or a hair more if the increase is comparable with what i am getting out of the stock impeller VS what they normally put out on the larger engines these blowers are common on. i think i am going to add a 2nd BOV as i still get a shitload of flutter with the valve set pretty light, light enough that its open at low throttle opening high revs, unlike a turbo my unused boost only drops with rpm and not spool down

autocrossed it today and nothing blew up or fell off and i was fastest in my class so woohoo, charge cooler seems to work great as measured after 5 runs before lunch and 4 after intake temps never got over 125 with a tad over 90 ambient, sounds good to me with my crap air filter position on the back of the blower, ill move it eventually but it'll take some engineering as i have used up almost all room on the left side of the engine compartment
my kamikaze camera mounted to the side mirror with electrical tape style i use in the shark doesn't work on the e30, the e24 has a fairly flat top on the mirror where the e30 has almost no flat area, so i jammed it under the right headrest, got way more wind noise then i expected inside of the car and the picture quality blows as it was bright but it was free, i think we are getting a hero HD at the shop so future vids may be better

piggy runs pretty good and is a ball to drive (kyle was in the car for the forward facing vid and can speak for it
) and is actually competitive with my fists of ham and fingers of butter driving at our local autocrosses but the blower won't stop picking its nose and farting in bed

You ever get the LC1 to work properly? I've had nothing but problems with mine. Every now and then it just decides to throw random error messages (nondescript and rarely the same one twice). Grounding seems to be the biggest issue with these, so I ran a ground all the way back to the battery in addition to the ring terminal grounded on the ECU bolt
Very clean install, it looks awesome!

got a AEM unit with the gauge and it so far works great and best of all no damn free air calibration, they calibrate it at the factory and its good ta go like a oem sensor, uses what looks like the same sensor but with a different plug, haven't looked into what it is the same as but it is not listed nearly as pricey as inovate sells them for (amazon sells LC1 compatible units really cheap, its a VW sensor, like a turbo beetle). had 2 LC1s and both shit the bed in different ways and never want another, i may get a LM1 when it comes time to tune my m635 as thats what mark D said to get but i don't think they are the piles of shit that LC1s are
