ya, the last 2 times we moved, we got movers. I will never again move my stuff. I was so much easier. we packed it and they moved it. The important is to be organized. They had everything moved in 4 hours. But if you are not organized it costs a lot more, because it takes the movers longer to move you stuff, which costs more.

We decided to move ourselves again this past time. I just couldn't bring myself to pay someone. It's annoying to have family help, though, because they are free labor, but they don't always move your stuff with care. I appreciate the help, but if all my stuff is going to get all jacked up, I'd rather just do it myself.

I needed to lay in supplies so I did some recon and ended up at the shopping area where Woodies Chili Dogs used to be. It's now 'Waldo's Chili Dogs' .

There was also Lightnin' Jack's BBQ which you know has to be good with no G in lightning.

I LOVE a good curry so I pleasantly surprised to see an Indian restaurant. It was named Bombay Express so I'm not getting my hopes up. I would have named it Express Kundalini.

The grub is ok and they are the only BBQ joint open on the Mesa on Sunday. I get the ‘sampler’ and graze on it for a couple of days.

This time I did hire someone, the U-Haul thing last year just about did me in.

Well I'm all moved except for some mop-up I'll do with a $20 U-Haul trailer tomorrow.
I hired the movers off Craigslist which is always a crapshoot but they had good Yelp reviews. These guys showed up and wouldn't take coffee, orange juice or muffins and went right to work. Even though it was over 80° for most of the move, they never slowed down or took a break. It was refreshing to see their work ethic in this day and age.
I tipped them $20.00 a piece and I have no idea if that was too much or not enough.

So the douchebag landlord at the old place kept $460.00 of my deposit with no explanation of why. In California you’re supposed to get an itemized list of stuff any of the deposit money was used for. He also didn’t return it within 21 days which is another no-no.
Now he gets nothing and LIKES IT.

He will get my letter today. I thought the cc to my imaginary attorney was a nice touch.
