shipping didnt seem to much of a big deal to a few people that contacted me about the car, might cost over a grand though to get to cali,

the only thing i that isnt in my add and has happened while i haven't been driving the car is that the brake master cylinder might be going out, the pedal feels rather hard it might be fine after some use or a fluid change but it is much stiffer them my m3's pedal.

so im officially keeping my car because those that have any interest in buying my car are dumb asses. the process of selling this car has been a very eye opening experience. trying to sell car as an honest seller and stating everything that is wrong with the car from a gear head point of view somehow is not the way to go about selling a car..... i mean even that 12k mile e28 m5 needed 2 grand worth of maintenance after purchase.....

witch is kinda sad as a local 535is sold with a bad syncro much more rust and bad compression sold for $1950 last week, it also had been in an accident an lived at my local body shop from about 2006-2008. the alignment was fucked and it pulles to the right an wears tires.... the seller lied to my face when i went to see the car i was amazed as i helped hammonds reassemble the car because i like to drink beer in the shop with the guys. im amazed this could have been a great car for a bmw junkie, all it needs is a rear camber toe kit to feel perfect on your hands, and cars that are trashed or stock with 200k+ miles sell all day long.

well im going to try an find a roof rack, bolt a tool box in the trunk an use it as my work truck! screw driving a gmc 3500 in the city im going to trash the shit out of this car! maybe ill go try an make friends over on stanceworks. :)

Don't beat the shit out of it, but E28s do make good utility vehicles. Put on a trailer hitch. They do very well for towing. That guy that only takes phone calls and sells VW parts has a bunch of roof racks for sale. I'd rather see you enjoy it than have some idiot that thinks it's British buy it.

I'm interested, but only if it has a V6 engine.

Nice of you to call everyone morons. I never inquired on your car. I'm offended.

I also don't care what you do with it. Good luck.

It's a tough market right now. I know as it took me a while to sell my touring.

Maybe it could have been worded a bit better.
"...those that have shown any interest..."
I think you have a fair priced car, if someone's looking for a keeper.

Thanks for your honesty.

No, but there's nothing you can do to fix that.

well the unfortunate thing is that i could have sold it it a few people, but i was confronted with drama, 2 kids had the money but their parents didnt want them to buy it and that was very interesting to deal with. an old man said he had the money in his truck and then proceeded to be an ass and argue with me that i was stupid and bmw stood for british motor works... i asked him to leave. 3 people want me to ship the car and two of them emailed the shit out of me constantly and it just consumed to much of my time to care. the third guy that wanted it shipped emails me like once every 6 weeks... some how calling me is too hard we have to email for 2 months. a few peple that emailed me wernt happy that i didnt want a down payment to "hold the car"?

however listing this car here put me in touch with the forum user HARVARDF. who posted earlier in this thread, he was a cool old guy he drove all the way from maine to pick up the e21 323i i found. i made a thread about it.

wow... you sold this yesterday? Ha pretty ironic on my side. I just wrecked my e28 about a month ago and got a $4000 settlement a couple days ago. So I am in the market for another 528e, yours was perfect, just found it today, and your profile says you sold it yesterday. I would have made a trip to PA immediately too... oh well, congrats on the sell!

yeah well i got watter in the gas an seized the block... sold if for bullshit money just to get it out of my way since i dont have time for it. you missed out big time. jakeb ownes it now and my entire e28 junk pile to go with it. he can easily make triple what i sold him the car for out of the parts he dosnt need. makes me sad but there was nothing i could do with the car but watch it rot. its off to a good home for another engine swap and hopefully itll receive a LS motor...

i cannot belive how much trouble i had selling this car though. i had to kick people off my property for being agressive, not sell it to kids that had the money because their parents would kill me. and answer email after email after email about dumb shit. it was almost a full time job to deal with it after it was featured on german car for sale blog (note this thread has like 7500 views...). when i tired to sell it again over the winter as a part pile i had almost the same thing. however i only let 2 mye28 forum members com look at the car i didnt respond to anyone else. but in the end i found a bmw enthusiast that used to swap m42's into 2002's and wants a nice e28. and this car perfectly fits the bill. i hate to give it up but i dont have time to touch it. my past 2 weekends were spent maintaining work trucks, this week on my day off i pulled the headliner from my m3 to recover, this weekend i need to do brakes on the jag, and my dads friend is comming over to show me how to tune the carbs on the etype. i loved this e28 but its never been what my old black e28 was... factory....

i miss this more:

again though selling this car did let me sell my 323i that i never officially bought to a great guy thats a perfect owner and that project is cumming along real well. soon a techno e21 323i with a zender kit and tsw wheels will be tearing it up around new england :)
