Bump for a great car, offered by a great guy.
Someone should jump on the opportunity to own a rare car in such good condition. How cool is it to see an E28 with manual windows front and rear? And a warning triangle in the trunk? And the cloth interior? And, and, and...............

Bump.Back to page one from page 3.

Been to V@V,Saratoga and PVGP this summer. Can someone tell me why I am selling my M535i? Oh I know. It's the other car I bought. The feedback that I have received is very positive about the car but people are a afraid of buying it until the 25 year rule comes into effect next year. Oh well I guess i'll have to store it for another winter.

Have to wait until the right butt and price meet. Then it will happen.

25 year rule is killing Ted's market. Once it's exempt from Federalization it will sell.
Just my $.02.

Bump for Ted.
It's January 2011, which would make this 1986 M535i importable to the states and safe from the Federalization Gnomes.

Not sure what the normal process is, but for what its worth the lost title process is pretty painless in MI too. I've done it a few times. I'm guessing you could get this car a title and plates here pretty easy.
And Detroit is just across the river from Windsor.
Nice car! GLWS

Okay so here is the final price drop. $14,000 US or best offer plus airfare back to Buffalo or T.O. whichever is cheapest. The car is now legal to bring into the US. It is advertised on the BMWCCA.ORG website and will be in the March,April and May issues of Roundel with this price. I can drive the car down for anyone that may be considering to buy it. I also have connections to getting the car registered in Florida easily. If it doesn't sell by Vintage then it will be there. It will also be at 5erFest in Pittsburgh in July. PM me with any questions along with your phone number and I will contact you via a land line.Cheers. Ted

Even in the land of emissions tests called Atlanta, it is exempt. One more year for my 87 even though it passes with flying colors.

Correct. Saratoga is the weekend before PVGP(July 21 to 24) and Vintage is at the end of May. I will be at all 3 events with the M535i until it sells. If it doesn't then back into storage it goes for another winter. Ted

I can't even come up with $1000, and no bank will loan me that kind of money for a car that age. Not to mention now is not the time to buy anyway when I am aiming for a house next year.
