I must say, you are one lucky man. Many of us will just dream about owning that car. You actually took the step to do it. Congrats!

Neat coupe!

Given the increase in power, I'd estimate ~250 HP and maybe 250-275 lbs for torque, you may want to look into some stiffer sway bars and strut braces if you do not have them already. Coupes are kinda "flexxy" so anything to stiffen them up will help.

Love the color, its my favorite. Although I prefer the CSL air dam to the Alpina, yours looks good with the front bumper delete.

Drive it like you stole it, keep it dry and be sure to keep us updated on the E9 board.

Thank everyone, especially you Jack! The car already has big Ireland sway bars, and a big tower brace in the trunk. Its also got IEs big brake kit. It was dry enough to take it out to breakfast this morning and it drives like its 20 years newer than it is. I love it I love it I love it.

Thank you Mark. Now I just need to learn how to keep this stuff while still buying the new stuff I like. I guess I have to start over because this one isn't going anywhere.

I feel your pain. Its hard restoring and maintaining a coupe along with a garage of 2 or 3 other classics. I'm having a hard enough time with the coupe and e28... but i'm not complaining ;) i mean, Ramen soup isnt all that bad... :)

Ryan:

Beautiful car! The prettiest car BMW ever made, IMO. This looks like a wonderful example and the upgraded drivetrain will make it more fun to own, maintain and drive than a 100% concours-correct e9, I suspect.

Have fun and happy motoring! Keep a close eye out for the old tinworm!

That car has been near the top of my list since getting into BMWs a few years ago. I think that design is absolutely stunning.

Awesome looking car, congrats. I really like the car with Alpina front, rear spoilers and the chromed out Alpina rims which give this car another dimension. Also the classic Alpina Steering wheel and other Alpina Accessories finished up the details.
