I'm aware of the external issues - I was just saying: Time [can] = Money.
No apology needed, I'm well aware of the Time/Money equasion. In my real life, away from cars, I try to be careful to at least buy something from the vendors who help with product advice even if their prices are sometimes too high to use on the larger purchases. I work for the gov and I have to balance fairness with frugal use of your and my tax dollars. Not always easy to do.

Moved more to this company away from WorldPac based upon increased model coverage with much better pricing.

My brother used to use them, but they had large order minimums back then (don't know if that is still the case.) WP delivers 2-3 times per day and no shipping charges at all even for one bolt.

I feel bad when the guy has to drive 25 miles to deliver a crush washer.

Steve Haygood was my favorite supplier. He was and is a great guy. I was in a garage in Florida the other day and ended up hearing more about some of steves trials. I wont go into it, but bad things can happen to good people`. And when it rains it pours. Steves trials were worthy of the old testament . Its actually shocking how much of what he went through is not public knowledge. Steve was not the type to complain nor did he. For those who got a story, I can assure you it was most likely the tip of the iceberg.
Bottom line is he was a valuable asset to our community and a good human being. He was always forth right and honest in his dealings with me. In short just a good guy. I miss his advice and access to reasonable prices.

I have had nothing but positive dealings with Steve at Bluntech. He has given me exceptional pricing and has never asked for a dime until he had the parts in his hands and was ready to ship. He is also a supporter of the enthusiast community (sponsor of V@V, Mid-America 02fest, etc.). While I liked Steve Haygood, I have clearly gotten better service and pricing from Blunt. I would suggest you give him a try to judge from your own experience.

I'll not give Blunt a try based on his performance on this forum. Acting that way is inexcusable and I won't be sending any money his way.

That dude is a tool.
WTF? I've had good dealings with Steve.
I think this thread from a year ago outlines Shawn's feelings fairly succinctly. Bottom of page one through page two contains the best parts.
That was great. I laughed until I couldn't see. Knowing both Shawn and Steve and liking them both made it even better. Don't know how I missed that in it's original form. Strong personalities often yield the best comedy and theater is where you find it!

Placed my order with AutohausAZ. Some funky issue was resolved.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I had actually heard that from many people that don't post here. Never read that thread before, though.
He seems to have kept his head down here and simply offered parts with no comment, so he is a viable option, online personality notwithstanding

They don't call him Blunt for no reason  No question he was over the top. We all get to decide on the way we spend our money and while I understand your point, I will say he never stole anyone's money and he has always given me great service. That's more than I can say for some of the parts folks who have frequented this board. At least one of them mentioned in this thread still owes me money.

All this talk makes me glad that I know guys like Chris, Johnny, Shawn, Todd, and of course Brian. Those guys have saved me a lot of time and money on essential parts both for Ratty and the new 6 (which I still have not named).

Another vote for Steve Peterson aka Blunt. I could not have afforded to build my car without his great pricing. From large sheet metal parts to small grommets, they all arrived fast, accurate, and undamaged.

Jack at Elephant Motorsports has served me well since Haygood's implosion. A good guy from what I can tell.

I didn't know BLUNT and Bluntech were the same person. Should be kinda obvious... but I have had good dealing with him. Fair price and fast shipping... he even offers $10 overnight shipping if needed.

I had my first interaction with them earlier this week at the advice of a board member.

I sent him an email stating what I needed, he gave me a quote & asked for an address, I replied. It was late in the day & he the parts in the mail before I even sent payment! No complaints here.

Just got word that Elephant Motorsports is now a Motul dealer, so if you want brake fluid and oil from Motul, that's where to get it.

Cheers,

I thought Id jump in here with an explanation for my behavior earlier in the aforementioned threads.
If I could go back and re-write the threads I would. Obviously it was over the top and uncalled for. I wont get into why I went off the way I did other than the fact Im sorry I did it.
People will vote with their dollars and Im sure Ive soured some peoples opinion of me. I will tell you that I take business and customer service very seriously and you will not find anyone who has dealt with me on a business level that wasnt satisfied with the transaction. Ive tried to lay low and and just help out where I can. Thank you for allowing me to maintain an account without banning me. There will not be any further outbursts or inappropriate postings

I just completed my first order with Blunttech, and am very impressed with Steves communication and professionalism. Those of you who don't want to buy from him based on the thread mentioned earlier are doing yourselves a disservice.

I love to hear reviews like that, but the process of emailing off part numbers, getting a quote, then placing an order is a bit of a pain to me. No disservice to Steve here, but the ability to place an order at midnight Saturday (or whatever) night is the beauty of the internet to me. I suspect it's orders of magnitude more difficult for a small business man to get to the point where he can do that and everyone that succeeds amazes me, but even though I pointedly try to support small vendors, good prices WITH ease of ordering is huge to me. That said, I wish Steve and Blunt tech good luck and who knows when I might just give him a try.

Bluntech's website is in beta test (site is up, just not taking orders yet). I think that will solve your issue.

Didn't place and order and get parts from Steve (BluntTech), but, asked for some prices via email, got a quick response, and when the time is right, I'm giving him a shot.
My objective will be quicker delivery than AutohausAZ offers at basically the same price.

Actually ... ummm ... you can. Of course, any time anyone else has already quoted you - and we usually do - you're stuck with that. I do find that the occasional 'ninja edit' (before anyone manages to see or quote it) can save me some embarrassment. Not all; just some.
Obviously it was over the top and uncalled for. I wont get into why I went off the way I did other than the fact Im sorry I did it.
This is a surprisingly forgiving lot, considering some of the shit that almost every one of us has dished out at one time or another.
People will vote with their dollars and Im sure Ive soured some peoples opinion of me.
See above.

As you can see, it takes a lot more than pissing off guys that you now understand really do have a clue what's going on and who voluntarily run this cyber daycare center for all of us miscreants. They don't hand out bans as a slap for misbehaving. In the years I've been here, I can remember maybe three - and I don't think any of them were permanent. Beamters are kind of like, but not exactly, moderators. They administer more than moderate. We are, for the most part, friends here because our chosen vehicle of interest represents a fairly small market. A lot of the interpersonal bashing here is better understood as what would go on between friends at a bar or a shop or anywhere else they'd gather to shoot the shit. I'm the Smartass©. Kyle is the Asshole©. (Both titles self-bestowed and proudly worn.) Shawn D. is the Grammar Zealot©. There is any number of general agitators. That's why I can say, if you hereafter fail to post anything at least slightly inappropriate, I shall be deeply disappointed. ;)

Nice to see that Steve dropped by again.

I'll add that he shares the same love for buzzy S14 transplants into orange 2002's with our very own RoyW, so you know Blunt/Steve is an enthusiast through and through:
