i wouldnt be surprised if you put her back together and it was smoking out the breather or running a bit rough at idle. Ive managed to not scratch a bore up on a 911 but broke a ring (make that several) in some 20 odd places.
Too much timing (and it was minimal to begin with) just kept pounding away and broke the rings on the dyno..would puff oil smoke out the filler cap on the tank like you wouldnt believe.

If it's a b35 like it says in his sig it's 9:1. I did miss the part about it being non-intercooled. Something in the back of my brain was saying "those aren't 10:1 pistons" when I posted that. To the original poster, fire rings pushed out like usually result from really high cylinder pressures. Do you have a boost gauge in the car? Are you absolutely sure it was only running 6.5 psi? Was it running stronger than usual recently by any chance?
it was running just about as good as it ever had.

yes, i have a gauge in the car. the wastegate is set to just about the lowest setting it can go, 95% positive it was 6.5psi

91 octane ethanol blend should be set richer then 91 octane staight. Due to the lower stoich number for ethanol... Is it just the E15 or E85 or what? cause the ethanol burns hotter too, and is more volatile from what i know, but i could be wrong. but i think E85 stoich is closer to 13.5afr, so even if you thought you were running rich you were probably a bit lean for what you should have been. And what plugs and gap were you running.
I don't feel like looking, but thats pretty normal if you aren't running a cat. 91 octane? I'm glad my gas stations don't have garbage gas, every gas station has at LEAST 93 octane. Do you have a good msq and datalog, if so post them up.Grant01 wrote:Plugs are standard bosch with standard gap.

I think I had the car running richer then 13.5, ill check my tune and post some info up. I know its rich enough for it to lay down some serious soot. I always find it on the back of my car...
You also didn't say it WAS intercooled, so I went by the info contained in your sig. Well myself and a few forums members took take a glance, and make sure it wasn't something in the tune that would possible stick out to us, that you may not have noticed. However, the datalog was the biggest thing I was lookinng forward to seeing, because it really shows the big picture of whats going on.

snipit of info that uploaded actually turned out to be the tune that i used to get the car started, not actually the one ive been running.(though it seemed off looking at it)

Wow, dude, I hate to say it but I'd get some help from someone who has a stronger grasp of what is going on. Who did you get these maps from (fueling table looks a lot like mine)? Your timing map doesn't even have bins for anything over 100kpa which is atmospheric pressure!! No wonder it died. You knocked the shit out of it. It was extrapolating off of your 100 kpa setting of 36° of advance! It was likely more than that. Holy hell. Your AFR table also only goes up to 100kpa. At least your fueling table looks like it is at least configured right with enough rpm and MAP bins to get the job done.
well, that may do it, a friend of mine who has setup a MS and tuned a few cars before set it up and said, that the map should be good for the little boost that im running and when i get larger injectors that is when we would actually do a final tune.
