Whatever, YMMV. When the balancer went on my E28, it made a thumping noise. No scraping. If it's not the center support bearing (and I agree with above about accell vs. decel) then the next thing I'd look at is the harmonic balancer. If your car has one - not sure about eta's.

You said five bolts, that's just for the diff mount. Bentley says also remove the front and side bolts and disconnect the sensor - I understand you didn't do that, and the sky didn't come crashing down?boardsportsrule wrote:it's quite simple..5bolts to take off, and put back on, and makes a world of difference.
