Yeah, it's Bahama Beige. My partner Phil freaked out when he saw the car because he thought they had painted it the wrong color. It was so faded that it almost looked Bronzit when we sent it to be painted. Once I opened the trunk and he saw that it was a perfect match, he was relieved!!! We should have the motor out by tomorrow. I will promise to keep up on the pictures.

Ron are those wheels clear coated or has something else been done to protect the finish? Thinking about sending another set to Al Reed for polishing, but not sure I want them raw like the last ones.

What year is this? I just realized that it's got a mechanical distributor... Was that a Hartge specific thing?

Yes, the distributor, head, headers, suspension, wheels, and 2.5/2.8 intake were all Hartge specific. The rest of the car was kinda an order de jour thing. I had owned a 1983 H5S back in 1984 and it had the stripe kit, BBS RS 16" staggared wheels, and BBS front and rear spoilers. It also had the gauge package on the parcel tray, front and rear badging, but it had manual comfort seats and was Polaris with Mocha (brown interior cloth). Bizzare, but it hauled arse!

Y'all can look at me like some sort of dolt, but I don't like the 3-piece Hartge wheels. The way the spokes terminate on the one-piecers makes that wheel for me.

I like the one piece wheel as well, but I really think the three piece wheel will fit in my vision just perfectly. The wheels are 17" 8.5 and 9.5.

Yep, my '83 Hartge came with the 2.5/2.8 intake as well. Ported and polished to match the Hartge head, there had to be some reason Hartge did this - more low end snort maybe? Now, if I could only find my Hartge catalog with the H5S engine package literature, I'd post it here for informational purposes.

It looks like the car's gonna be a gem when all is said and done, Ron. This is just what that car needed and deserves. I look forward to updates with great enthusiasm. How about some pics of the fresh front seats?

I just saw your "Operation Hartge" two weeks ago at Tony's shop in Arizona. It looks fantastic! Kimberly and I couldn't stop staring at it. Out of the respect I have for you, I chose the "2"!
