Im not defending him...im just using it as an example....I was just saying that i saw that in a Documentry about the US gun laws and the ease at which you can obtain one
(and the way they (Guns)are treated..giving one away in a bank to me..even with proper checks..does not seem responiable)..
.I also beleive that it was overhyped a touch by Micheal moore. (as you said they did not show the processing that is required to claim the gun)
(im no Huge fan of him..he has some good points to make...alot of the stuff he ha in his movies i beleive very intersting..it cant all be Conspiricy IMHO)..
The problem is he dosnt take a step back and look at the whole situation in most cases...which is a shame as he could probably be taken more seriously if that was the case....and some of the stuff he has done in the Awful Truth shows him to be hypocritical...i wont mention what though as that is a whole other debate..)
But when i see a Semi Automatic Hand gun (it is a Semi-autmatic yeh?) raffled in a police auction...it starts to make me beleive it is all true. ..which is a shame for you guys as someone from overseas seeing it in this way (seriously..if that happened here...Woooh Absolute Outrage would occur...that is why i suppsose it would never happen here)
Im not sure how strict your laws are....but your first ammendment would overide any objections i gather..the right to bear arms and all. ( i mean baically anyone can get a guin right..as long as you dont have a criminal record and are above 16yro?)
The other thing is that i cant beleive that you guys cant see the IRONY in Raffling a hand gun so Police can go to a national meeting to morn Fallen police officers. seem very strange.

Our Prime minister (john Howard (DICKHEAD() declared all new gun laws...people handed them in For $$$ and they scrapped them..no questions asked. and you could no longer buy Semi-automatics...generally it is extremly difficult to get a Gun here. (.22 and Air guns are about it..and Sotguns for Rural areas..and your areas)
Any way im not against guns for sport and genuine killing of pests ike rabbits etc......just very hard to except that A police staion would raffle a gun....If a Bank gives away guns in a the US id just say thats strange/bizarre liked i did when watching the Micheal moore film....but reading here that a police station doing it is just not Ethical IMHO...esecially considering what the funds raised are for.
