1985 BMW 745 for sale
Hi folks,
This Turbo is the same one many of you saw here last November and listed in ebay in December. I am the buyer, in Boston. Um, I have driven 733's for 15 yrs and bimmers since '77. So thought I'd upgrade when mine was rearended and totaled, but alas this car is more than I can take on, so it's for sale again. sigh! Best part: this car is FAST. Good parts and bad as described below in David's original post/ad in November. Have done nothing to the car. Does need blower as described below....also needs climate controls attention, maybe a board, a fuse, a relay....I dont know. Just wanna make back what I paid for it. When M5 clutch arrives, I will certainly include it in the sale, but buyer will have to do the install. Email me for pics. ebay BIN price was $4100. I dont really wanna go lower since I also spent $900 to ship it.

This is the same car that Mike Skeen drove while he was shooting Speed Channel's Setup last year. I am the second registered owner and the car is registered in California.
Car was converted to Getrag 265 5 speed by previous owner. I completely replaced all maintenance items after I bought it - belts, hoses, sensors, plugs, pump, fluids and etc. Engine compression was even at 160 on all six cylinders and valves were adjusted prior to loaning the car out to Mike Skeen at 99K miles.
Since then turbo was upgraded to our upgraded turbo and chip was installed. All fuel injectors were rebuilt and new fuel regulator and other related boost upgrade parts were installed for running 10 PSI.
Car was a good daily driver for my shop guy when his Scooby was totalled in an accident by his brother beginning of the year. After that the car just sat in the garage. Car has 120K miles.
The Good - interior, engine and other stuff is in excellent shape. Car came with glass moonroof and power rear seat. Everything works except for those listed in The Bad.
The Bad
Fan blower is out. Never got around to replace the fan but AC freon is holding in the system. Clutch needs to be replaced. The stock clutch had at least 40K miles on it and is just not good enough for higher boost now.
I am selling the car with 2 options. Car is not perfect and needs work hence the low price.
1st option is as is condition for $3300.
2nd option is $4300 with M clutch installed by Don Lawrence.
Pm me for more pics or questions.

What is more than you can take on about it? Clearly with your background and experienced with the E23, you had some level of expectations for the car that it didn't meet once you received it. What were those? Posting a comprehensive list of the cons you found (rust you didn't expect, wasted bushings/rubber/weatherstripping, mechanical issues, etc) would be helpful to anyone considering this car at this point.charley326 wrote:Um, I have driven 733's for 15 yrs and bimmers since '77.
