I'm totally confused. Page one of this thread was all 2008, page two starts with me asking about a possible missing "restrictor" mentioned in the 2008 post and everything after seems to be in reply to the 2008 issue, which I assume, is a done deal by now.

Can anyone comment on my issue? I have no idea what my mechanic has done "this time".

Reviving this thread. I have this exact issue. The cabin temp sensor is plugged in tight, so I was going to check the heater core temp sensor mentioned above. Has anyone here done this? It looks like I can just get access to this sensor from the drivers footwell (after removing the kick panel). It does not look like I have to drain the coolant, so I guess the sensor is dry?
The part shows as still available on realoem- anyone know where I can get one? There is a testing procedure in the Bentley manual, thinking maybe it's easier to just replace it if I can get one.
[Edit- Dealer has it for about $70 from Germany. seems reasonable]
