It has always been very interesting to me that women who have casual sex can be branded "whores" but men who do the same thing are, at least in some circles, considered "studs" or "cool." Personally, I would try to raise my kids, and my son, to not act as if he is a gorilla in heat when he is around women, and to treat them with respect.
As to the original poster, the problem is you are asking us a question only you can answer. Be very honest with yourself, and the other person, and give yourself some time to think things through. The fact that you are asking a group of us for our thoughts indicates to me that you are not comfortable, and that you should think about why that is, and what, if anything, can be done about it relative to the relationship at issue. Sorry I can't say more, but it is really a very personal issue at the end of the day.
